Moderators, while this talks of shipping, can we please leave this here in the Selling section as it affects everyone?
I use Time Away a fair bit, from sourcing trips to vacation to hurricane evacs. I was going to schedule Time Away as I will be going out of town next week and the below is a brand new warning message at the top of the screen.
I understand why an in process offer etc. would not be a situation where the shipping date could be adjusted as the transaction/offer was initiated before TA was set.
I do NOT understand why the handling time for GSP or local pick up or digital cannot be adjusted. It still has a date just like any other date. GSP also uses the same handling time as a listing without TA.
Time Away was developed (and heavily promoted by eBay) as the solution to sellers not having to update handling times or end listings when you were away. Now you are basically saying it does not work.
Based on the updated help page and this new warning, I STILL have to go in and adjust the handling times on all my listings whether I pause sales or not.
It looks like the TA help page was updated towards the end of last year with the statement referencing it not updating handling times for GSP if you allow sales.
New Warning

New Update Verbiage on the TA Help Page.
Then there is the below on the TA page. This seems to infer that even if you pause sales, a GSP sale can still go through with the original handling time and estimated delivery date?? Which makes no sense to me as if you pause sales, no one should be able to buy anything.
Whether you choose to allow sales or pause them, delivery dates won't be updated for:
- Second Chance Offers
- Auto-accepted offers
- Pending counter-offers
- Seller initiated offers accepted during Time Away
- Items with local pickup, in-store pickup, or Global Shipping Program as the shipping option
- Digital items
You may want to change the shipping format or the handling times on these items while on time away.
