Thinking of making the switch to eBay managed payments

I am hoping someone who has switched over to eBay managed payments can tell me how their experience has been since the switch. I understand there has been early issues with slow sales but has it changed since? I have noticed a lot of people having issues checking out with paypal as well with messages such as  "Payment cannot be processed at this time" as well as issues using a credit card during checkout. I am wondering if jumping ship will help give a boost in sales and if those bugs have been fixed?

You may be best to post this on the Payment board but also go over there & read anything with the post title of Managed Payments

https://community.ebay.com/t5/Payments/bd-p/payments-db

Paypal is still not available in ebays manged payments & may not be until some time in 2019.
If you use GSP that get's tossed out the window as well no GSP in this roll out phase.

I personally will not be switching until such time that a complete product is available to me and my buyers, If they want to use Paypal I want them to have that choice .
Also can't find it now but had read they may also take away the option for sellers to use their own merchant account.

Lot's to take into consideration
Good luck

IMO, I would first check to see what sort of "seller protection"  coverage is offered for credit card initiated disputes such as unauthorized use and item not received. Currently those type of disputes are covered under paypal's seller protection program.

Those are not "issues" with PayPal payments; they're deliberately disabled until at least sometime next summer, from what eBay is saying. If the seller is in Managed Payments, buyers cannot pay with their PayPal accounts at the present time. They have to cough up a credit card instead. eBay has promised to begin including PayPal as a buyer payment method sometime next summer.

I don't see how removing a payment method is going to improve my buyers' "payment experience" in any way, so I'm probably going to avoid getting into MP until it's unavoidable.

One of the main reasons I would hold off is that PayPal can not be used as a payment method with managed payments. The buyer must use a credit card, and that is why there were some initial checkout problems because buyers had to enter credit card info.  That also means vendor items can not be mixed in the same cart, another reason there were early checkout problems. eBay will not be accepting PayPal through managed payments until possibly next spring or summer, so I recommend holding off until then.

This is true.  However, you must use your PayPal account to purchase labels.  Since you won't have any money going into paypal anymore, that may be a problem.

In addition I would be very interested if there are any "seller protections" offered as the poster mentioned above.  Here is a link to the managed payments TOS on ebay.  You will notice that there is no mention of any protections for sellers from such disputes.

The specific questions have been asked on the boards and in the Weekly Chat.  The ebay staff will not say or discuss the topic and said you have to call.  The number they published was 800-456-3229.

Until it is put in writing somewhere, I would be hesitant to believe anything I was told over the phone.
