Just had a buyer buy 4 different widgets, paying a ship cost of $3 for each ($12) when I could easily ship them together for $4.95, saving the buyer at least 1/2 the shipping. But of course as they're a guest account every ID is different and I can't, so I'll have to ship individually.
Just curious, can guest accounts add to cart then request a total?

Morning yme 🙂
Guest buyers CAN use the cart, but I'm unsure about "request total". Combined Shipping Rules DO work for guests that use the cart.

I guess it's not explained clearly to guest accounts to use the cart then.
I just feel bad for the buyer, but don't see an easy way to "fix it"

It's not explained clearly enough to registered buyers LOL
IMO, the Buy it Now button should just Add to Cart automatically on Fixed Price Listings. There shouldn't be this separation ... But that's probably too simple of a thing to do 🙂

I don't think even doing the label through PP will let me add the same tracking number, right?
Ah. But I'd still end up with no tracking dings on 3 of the items per eBay. - sigh

Is there a way you can somehow alter the amount of money you debit them? (I'm obviously not a seller.) For example, they owe you $10 on a particular item, but you only debit their PayPal account $8?
I once had a seller from another venue actually reimburse me in cash when she sent my package! She put some money (and I swear it was less than $1--just some change) in a little baggy (along with a couple of other goodies) and a note that said, "Reimbursement for shipping overcharge." Needless to say, I've gone back to her online store again and again.
Thanks for being such a good seller!

Gees, sorry about my previous response. It's clear to me now, albeit too late, that you have to send three different packages. Duh (on my part).
Can a seller contact a guest buyer? If so, you could explain how to use the cart to save shipping costs; however, that would probably mean you'd have to ask them to cancel and then relist the items for them to rebuy. Sounds pretty involved.

Now, wait a minute. ebay offers guest accounts and use of the carts and you want them to give instructions, TOO?

Well yes. LOL
I just don't see a way to "fix" this without it costing me either dings to my account or $$ received.
It is not just guest buyers that don't use the cart.
Many buyers just buy and pay and then expect refunds for the overpaid shipping.
What I have done in the past is refund each shipping charge after the first one less the Paypal 30¢ charge plus the Ebay FVF on the other shipping charges.
Then mail together and let buyer know what you did in great detail.
Neither Ebay or Paypal care because more fees for them once items are paid for.
