The epic fail of AI

This is just two examples. This watch has a tiny crack along the screen hence it's price of $74.99. Watches with tiny cracks are not trending at $120. Nor are ones with dings, missing clasps, missing chargers, heavy scratching, pink ones. Ones that have discoloration on the front and the long list of other variations of a single USED item. The other example, well, it speaks for it's embarrassing self.

You can not compartmentalize, categorize or otherwise lump used unique items. It just doesn't work. Nor should you lump small, garage, work-from-home, CL type sellers with big box retail outlets.

We are not the same, don't want to be the same and didn't come here to be the same. We can not afford free returns for any reason, forced best offer, guaranteed delivery (some of us have FT jobs.) We cannot afford to have our very identity as sellers here be micro-managed into oblivion by an over zealous CEO who can only see through Amazon's eyes and copies every Johnny-come-lately idea that comes along. And while there will still be limited options, what good are they when those listings will be buried so deep, not even the the most aggressive buyer will find them.

We cannot afford to compete with China and their 29 cent shipping fee while we are forced to supplement the almost monthly USPS price increases so the Chinese can continue to flood the market with fakes. It's nothing less than treason.

Many of us are just regular Joes trying to hock some goods the best way we know how. That is, or was the soul of ebay afterall. This recent salvo of changes, IMO, is going to kill what's left of the small seller. If AI doesn't destroy it first.
