The buyer wants to return the item that I did not send him

The buyer received the parcel that I sent and claims that there is a non-relevant product. I sent the item exactly listed in the ad and the buyer received exactly the package I sent! The weight of the parcel that was accepted into the Russian Post Office corresponds to the weight of the received parcel in New Zealand. Now he wants a refund and does not want to send anything back!

II am sure that in the package he received was exactly the product that I sent(G-star jeans). The buyer wants to get free jeans and return the money, trying to mislead by displaying photos of the product that I have never seen before. Now ebey says that I pay for the return delivery of the item which I have never seen before and returned the money to the buyer. The buyer left positive feedback before he received the item. I think he can do it systematically,  be careful!

"Dear buyer,

I'm sorry you are not happy with you purchase.  Please return for a full refund.

Your seller"

Rinse and repeat as often as necessary.  You will have to send the cost of shipping, I believe.

There are 1001 reasons and excuses for returns - maybe real, maybe not.  You won't win the argument.

I know that I won’t win the argument. I just wanted to warn the community about the unfair buyer, but it turns out to be prohibited by the rules and my post was edited, excuse me for breaking the rules.

Every time I will send items, I need to take a video of how I put the relevant product in the package, seal it, the postal worker weighs, stamps and gives me a check with the track number, so should i do?

What will happen, if I don’t pay for return shipping?

Thanks!

I am sorry you are having this issue and it does happen eventually to about every seller.  Taking video of your shipment is not any kind of proof to eBay in disputes.

Right now it does not sound like the buyer has opened any kind of request for not as described.  If this is correct  you can communicate with your buyer if you want and try to make your case for why they got the item they purchased or you can instruct them how to open a return request.

If you instruct them how to open a return request eBay will require you to send them a return shipping label.  The buyer will then be required to return the item you sent them in order to get a refund.

If the buyer does not open a request for return then you do not have to do anything else.  Maybe block the buyer if you want.

If they do and you do not want to accept the return and or issue a return shipping label, then the request will turn into a case and this allows eBay to decide the case on behalf on both the buyer and sellers, which will almost every time result in the buyer keeping the item and also getting a full refund.  By not issuing the return shipping label you are telling eBay you do not want the item back.

Right now eBay considers the buyers story to be the most accurate because they are in possession of the item shipped.  Something might have happened on the packages journey that you do not have any info on so eBay will now just try to have both parties reverse the transaction with a return and full refund.

When you get the item back you can then decide if you want to pursue further reporting on the misuse of the money back guarantee but until it is finished and back in your hands you have no way of knowing what the buyer actually got or what they will return to you.

Thanks for the detailed answer!

It turns out if the buyer sends me the item whose weight does not correspond to the weight of the parcel received by him, will this not be evidence that he sent me a different thing from the received one? If the weight is fixed at the post office and the delivery station and the parcel was not opened, this 100% means that the contents of the parcel on the way were not replaced and the item was sent in this package.

What evidence does the ebey take as credible?

How can I prove that the parcel that I receive from him is not the one I sent to him?

Thanks!

Bottom line - you can't.

How much money are we talking here?

If you don't pay for return shipping, ebay will probably refund and let them keep the item.

Video of the packing process probably will be a waste of time.  ebay wants happy buyers to they will return for more.  The argument you will get is that videos, photos can be doctored or photo-shopped.

The frequent opinion of ebay is that 'faulty returns' (different item/something else returned) is 'part of the cost of doing business'.

What evidence is credible for ebay - hmmmmm, I can't think of anything, especially if it would cost ebay a buyer's business or money.

When buyers open item not as described requests they are always for returns.  There is almost no creditable info that matters at the beginning in these situations.  Sellers are required to send a return shipping label and to refund when the package arrives.

Some times sellers do not get back what they sent and or the item is damaged when it was not before.  None of these things override the sellers responsibility to refund when the return is completed.

You can contact eBay if you did not get the same item back in the same condition you sent it in and report the case as a misuse of the eBay money back guarantee and eBay will give you instructions.

Sellers who use the free returns policy can issue partial refunds when items are not returned in the same  condition as when you shipped it.  Click here to learn more about the free returns policy

First off, you aren't obligated to refund anything without the buyer sending back the item, unless you refused to accept the return and provide a shipping label; then ebay will refund them and it will count as a strike against your account if you refuse.

If the buyer sends back anything other than what you sent, contact USPS and file mail fraud charges against the buyer. Include the original photos of the item you sent, along with the photos the buyer sent you. USPS doesn't play games either, and they don't care what ebay's policies are.

The biggest problem is how do you send return shipping to Russia?

You can use Paypal's Send Money and note it is for postage.

If he does not use it, you do not refund.

If he uses it to send something other than your jeans, you open a Paypal dispute.

If he cashes it, but does not send your jeans, you open a Paypal dispute.

While I sell internationally, Russia is one of only four countries I will not ship to.

"The biggest problem is how do you send return shipping to Russia?"

Why is this a problem?

Do I need to ask the buyer for the return shipping cost to Russia or send him the money he paid for the delivery from Russia?

Thanks for helping, guys!

Yes @hirizer you are responsible for the return shipping: Find out how much it costs to ship that other item back to you, then PayPal the money to your buyer.

Only if you like wasting your time.

No one ever will look at it as part of a claim. You'd be better off showing them funny cat videos.

Yeah, but only your cost of doing business not theirs. When it is your money they don't care.

And to find the cost of returning your shipment from Russia you will need the dimensions of the parcel and the weight.

In METRIC.

http://convert.french-property.co.uk/

And then you will need the Russian postal service site.

https://www.pochta.ru/en

Which is entirely in Russian. Well-- da.

So you will need Google Translate.

Best wishes.
