Tax help

I have 3 questions, hopefully not too stupid.

1.  On my 1099 it shows the total for the transactions I sold.  But where do I find what they actually paid me?

2. I have my shipping costs deducted from my payouts.  Is there a report I can run to find out what I paid in shipping last year?

3. Lastly, can I change it so my shipping is billed to a credit card and not coming out of my payouts?

Would appreciate any information.

Thanks

1) You have to deduct your expenses when filing your taxes to arrive at a Net Income; i.e, what is taxable.

2) In Seller Hub, Go to Payments, Reports, and Download the relevant Financial Statements, there should be Twelve (12) in 2024, one for each month.  In the PDF under "Shipping Labels" is the total cost paid per month.  If you used Pirate Ship, a 3rd Party outlet, see their procedure.  If you did any retail; i.e., at a US Postal Service Counter, from which you paid cash and then entered a Tracking Number into the eBay system, you have to save those receipts as evidence of an expense to add.

3) Go to Account Settings-----no guarantee it will work, even if eBay's system is set that way stating it will (my experience).

The 1099K only shows the gross amount and you get your net after deductions..

You can add the credit card to your Pay Pal account and set it as your primary funding source, then choose Pay Pal when you go to buy a label.

Have a great day.

Seller Hub > Payments > Reports > Transaction Reports > Create Report

Choose:

All statuses

All transactions

Start date: Jan 1

End date: Dec 31

Then click "Create Report".

When the report is done, you can download it as a CSV file and it will contain all the data you need. Open the CSV in  a spreadsheet program.

When you get that far, come back here and ask what to do next if you cannot figure it out.

3) Lastly, can I change it so my shipping is billed to a credit card and not coming out of my payouts?

Kind of. You can fund the label using PayPal, and set the credit card as your PayPal funding source. But I find it easier to pay it out of payouts and use the report above.

@april1007

You have lots of information at your fingertips, you just don't know it.  Have you ever used the Seller Hub?  It is a wealth of knowledge for you and help you track many things.  It can be overwhelming, but it is worth the time to learn more about it.

Across the top are some tabs.  One say PAYMENTS.  That tab will give you access to all kinds of info on your money and your transactions.  I encourage you to check it out.

This is your Summary page, but is you look in the left rail, you will see other options to finding info you need.
