Hang in there it ebbs and flows

You're not alone! The last 2 weekends have been pathetic. 1 sale last time; 3 this time around. People say it's the "ebbs & flows." I prefer ebbs & flows that are not 1 good day, 6 lousy ones. Starting to be the trend! Good luck! 🙂

Have you seen gas prices and prices in stores now?
People can't afford to buy what they want, just what they need.
Went to the lumber yard a couple weeks ago and paid $22 for a $5 piece of lumber.

can't afford gas, stay home and buy it on eBay
Sales were slow before the rise in gas and lumber prices

Have you tried "ground control to major Tom?"

Is it your tax time over there ?
Our sales tank around June/July as our tax time is 06/30
They tend to pick up or plateau a bit depending after that, I guess depending on whether people are getting refunds on tax or not - vicious circle at times, hope things pick up

Everyone is out at B&M stores. My job has been packed for the past couple of weeks.

I've had slow sales before. Not once have a ever blamed or even thought to blame ebay.
If my sales are slow, that means nobody wants to buy the stuff i sell. It's really very simple.

I will say that ours went off a cliff when promoted listings went wonky and our impressions flat lined.
Now that PL is back (not like it was, but back) our sales are back. It is slower, but a slower time of year typically for us and tax day was just a week ago.
The listings that we promote, offer free shipping and free returns - they sell. The ones where we do not promote, not so much lately. If there is any correlation, not sure. But seems like e-Bay wants those promotion dollars to keep your listings relevant.
The areas we sell in, thousands of Sellers sell in. If you have more of a niche area, maybe not so much. I would hate to be selling clothing, books, dvds, music, baseball cards, pokemon cards.....so many categories really flooded.
Everywhere we went this weekend, the stores were packed. At Target, you would have thought it was Christmas - the cars parked all the way out to entrance street - every row full. DS wanted to get a charging cord. We decided too many people and no where to park, so we punted.
Buyers have had 15-16 months of shopping online and getting only what they can get. Even if they could get to the stores, the shelves were pretty empty, at least here.
I know I want to get out there and see for myself what options there are. Somethings are harder to buy online. Will we ever wait in line again at Petsmart to buy rabbit or cat food? he77 no. Am I ready to access a dressing room and find a bathing suit for vacay I can actually try on? You bet. And shoes. lol
