The TLDR version:

A couple plead guilty to criminal copyright infringement for profit stemming from sales in 2015.

The wife plead guilty to one felony count, and the husband plead guilty to one misdemeanor count.

They were importing wholesale shipments of counterfeit DVDs from Hong Kong, and selling them on eBay.

The couple are facing potential prison time of 5 years for the wife and 1 year for the husband - but they have not actually been sentenced yet.

The headline should say potential prison time; they haven't been sentenced yet. And this offense took place in 2015! Unfortunately, one way of interpreting this story is that most sellers of counterfeits don't get caught, rather than "nothing goes unnoticed."
