Suspicious buyer

A days ago I sold something and then ebay sent a suspicious buyer email.  They removed the item and refunded me.  Now I'm seeing it is bought again and by the same buyer.  Not sure what to do.  Do I just ignore it?  Maybe it is real?

Suspicious buyer

Who is "they"?  E-Bay?

If you have a suspicious Buyer (are they trying to get you to work thru email or send them a gift card?), you need to add that ID to your BBL (blocked buyer list) - Block buyers from your listings | eBay

Copy and paste that ID into the BBL.

Can you explain a little more about the reason you think this Buyer is suspicious?  Not enough info to go on to really try and assist you.  Thanks!

Suspicious buyer

Was it purchased by the same member id?

Or was it purchased by a different member id, but the same real name/address by the same person who had created another account?

If it was the latter, you can cancel the transaction using the "problem with buyer's address" option and immediately report the buyer, explaining the situation to eBay. It is a violation for a member to open a second account to circumvent a block--whether that block is put in place by you or by eBay.

Suspicious buyer

The title of the e-mail from eBay was "Suspicious buyer for item" -- I believe the OP is repeating what eBay's e-mail said about a suspicious buyer, and probably does not have his/her own "suspicions" about a buyer.

My selling ID also received a "suspicious buyer" email from eBay earlier this week.   I had never heard or read that term before.

The e-mail came to me more than a day after a listing ended, won by the one and only bidder.  I had looked at her feedback and found that she had a spotty payment history.   She also had not yet paid me her winning bid + postage.  So I wasn't really surprised that, according to that e-mail, she was not a registered user on eBay.

One thing that e-mail did not recommend was to add the user name to my BBL.   But I did do that.

Now I am kind of wondering if this "suspicious buyer" e-mail is genuinely from eBay.  Another thing it said was that I can find the listing in the Solds section of My eBay.  Four days later, and it is not there.   I'd kinda like to list it again as it is a seasonal item.   Several other sellers are selling similar things, and I like to list my items with very competitive pricing.

Oh -- and the e-mail told me eBay had credited "All associated fees except for payments processing fees and the final value fee for my listing."   The "buyer" never paid, and in my selling account I don't see any credit or debit of fees related to this listing number.   I sell so little that I always fall within my monthly free listings, so that's $0.  Because I'm in Managed Payments, I am half expecting to see deduction of the final value fees (I estimate about $2.50) from my checking account.

These are my experiences, though, and not those of the OP "murrie0".  Hope he/she can come back and continue this chat.

Suspicious buyer

Yes.  That was the same email I got.  But the buyer paid.  The email came a full day later.  Ebay canceled the order.  It did seem like an odd email but  from looking around on this site it is a legit email.  The whole process is just weird...

One of  the hardest things to write is the boilerplate form letter.

Most of the time the writer knows the subject so well that she uses internal jargon or leaves out steps that she figures most people would use automatically.

Don't be surprised that the email was less helpful that it could be.
