Anything without a UPC code will not be able to be sold on Ebay? Impossible to find a UPC for many things I sell. Should I just stop listing them right now?
Basically, they are going to require you to create an eBay Catalog Product Page for your item. It doesn't need a "UPC code", but it can still be "associated" with an eBay "product page" in this manner, which would allow you to list it. Although eBay won't be showing or using it, you're basically creating your own UPC MPN GTIN EAN type thing for it in eBay's "catalog".
