Hello everyone,
I have been doing extremely well on eBay for a while now and all of a sudden the last 5 days I have seen an almost sudden drop in sales. I went from 10 a day minimum to no more than 3 a day. I did check the seller news and I noticed that eBay has reported issues with both Buy it now and Checkout. Could this be causing my issue? I have already gone through and deleted stagnant listings that haven't sold in 60 days.
Also is anyone else experiencing this? thanks.

It could be. I couldn't buy something last night. I haven't experienced this problem.
I have, however, experienced repeated problems with buyers trying to use eBay Gift Cards & DirectExpress prepaid cards (like the ones Social Security uses for SSI payments) to make purchases.

I figured my drop was due to the weather getting better, places opening back up and school being done....

Part of it could be the dropshipping.
If they can go to Wally World, the River or other sites and get it cheaper, why wouldn't they.

My sales have been very good recently. Then this past week I would list an item or just edit a listing and get a 404 error message. This continued for a few days, on 2 different computers..and now that it has stopped my sales have tanked. And I mean tanked. I am listing consistently. I send out offers. I promote listings. I have good customer service practices. I do have a return request that is open because I am still waiting for a response from buyer. I have contacted numerous times. I wonder if either of these 2 issues could be hampering my sales? It's hard to get in touch with a live person and maybe we need someone to check our accounts and see if there are any bugs or glitches. I am tagging Brian Burke in this. Maybe he can give us some suggestions? I know this response sounds paranoid but before covid, I would call cs get them to refresh my store after them telling me nothing was wrong...and then after I hang up with them sales start flowing again. I would just like some transparency.

My sales have dropped lately, but it's been a slow drop over the last couple of weeks, all while I've listed new items. My thinking is that: a) we're in the traditional summer slowdown and people are seriously eager about getting out there and spending their money on services that weren't available to them during lockdown, b) the spending boost we got earlier this year from stimulus checks and tax refunds is over, c) a heck of a lot of people have lost jobs that aren't coming back any time soon, and d) savings vs. spending rates have been especially high these last few months as Americans anticipate the economy being on shaky ground for the foreseeable future.
Tanking sales are distressing, but the one thing a lot of people encourage doing is to use slow times to list more so that when buying ticks up again you'll have more available to sell.
