Our county has over 1/2 million people in it ... thus far there are 10 confirmed cases of Covid-19 and no deaths.
Our State has 67 counties and 27 have no reported cases. 2 Weeks of limited contact seems to be helping but my feeling is that rural areas that are seeing few confirmed cases may feel like they are stuck in neutral ... I know I do.
Many sources for inventory have closed ... online estate and auction houses are still holding auctions but stating they will retain everybody's items until the restrictions are lifted and their regular offices resume again. That's not really a solution, putting out $$ for inventory but having no clue when you might get it?
Non-Life Sustaining businesses have to be closed but pot shops and liquor stores remain open ... what is up with that?
I am anticipating that we will be put under these constraints again for another 2 weeks ... to sometime in early April.

I tend to have him on on Youtube in the background while I'm doing listings and I wasn't paying that much attention to it... but I'd rather listen to him than MY Gov and or Trump to see what is currently going on with the mess.
Yes, I have watched a number of his broadcasts ...

NO! if you get flu shots you have antibodies to one or more specific strains of the flu virus running around in you, not the viruses!

But it kinda makes sense that if you get the flu shot, you MAY be more at risk because you do already have some of a related virus running around inside you, dead or alive.
But then again -I live in an old house(1875). So I have fresh air throughout, which I love. New houses are so closed, you can't even light a fire in your fireplace without opening a window. Imagine what you are breathing all day long if you don't open some windows for fresh air ........
Plus, you cover yourself up at night with heavy quilts and haps, and you sleep so much better because of the weight.
Our home was built in 1986 and we live on a ridge that get lots of wind ... when its real windy it literally sucks the heat out of the house and you can feel cold air coming in through the electrical outlets on the windward side. We burn a wood stove off and on 5 months a year and days without wind, even if its frigid outside, we don't have to burn it as hot but on windy days I crank the stove!!! The only time we open windows is to let excessive heat OUT LOL!

Wait... I know "southern" states (and people) are often seen as backward.
Florida is in the southern part of the US, but not really "southern" culture, as most everyone or their parents was born somewhere else.
The beaches thing was just... not smart, at the least.
Louisiana had the Mardi Gras probably right at a bad time. Don't blame them.
But, Kentucky?? I m a 7th generation Kentuckian.
We have actually done well.
We have a great new governor. He has been on top of things.
The last governor,( after refusing to move from the governors mansion, where he didn't live anyway) went back to where he came from. Never before have I heard people actually use the word carpetbagger.
We have canceled the Derby, our biggest event of the year.
And our fireworks display, hundreds of thousands of people attend.
We have closed all non essential businesses.
We are up there with other states being very proactive.
As to Kentuckians. Mitch McConnell was born in Alabama.
Rand Paul born in Pennsylvania(?).
Our former governor was a rich guy from New England.
We don't have crazies here, it looks like we import them.
Seems we do better with our home grown politicians.
Yes, we are defiant against the germ.
We are killing it by staying in. Social distancing.
And we still have really good Bourbon.

I understand what your saying, for those who sell used/preowned merchandise I see how this is an issue, stores, auctions, lines of sourcing you use are shut down or limited service. I don't have this issue in the US, everything is full go in most places for mail order sourcing, distributors etc... Where I have the issue is overseas sourcing, I have now over a grand on hold in orders from overseas sources as the delivery systems there are either moving at snail pace or shut down entirely. But my US sourcing are all running normal business as usual. Since I have inventory stuck overseas right now I got inventory orders in the past 3 days to some US sources.
It obviously depends on what you wheel and deal in. I do have tons of inventory here I never put up and a lot of it is still crated up from when I moved here from east cost last year, if things get bad I can always crack some those open.
COVID-19 isn't huge issue in my state, there is only like 46 confirmed cases here, while we are having the same situation as almost everywhere now stores closed, stores open but outside pickup only, stores with reduced hours and services... it's not been huge issue for me, I don't source locally anyways, i'd be out of business if I did lol.

@nuclearomen Just before all the restrictions were activated I placed over $ 1,000 with one of the local Auction houses I work with for a late March online auction ... that has now been affected. I may have to go back there and get the items and list them on eBay just to keep product moving or at least give it a chance to sell ...
That is part of the process I have, I sell on eBay but also at different local auction houses (we have quite a few). Certain items sell better at different venues.
I'm taking a break from the news today but if they extend the quarantine another 2 weeks I need that inventory back, no sense letting it sit idol when it might sell online.

yeah, when you have that kind of cash on hold things can get itchy, sure there are others who have more dished out on sourcing then me and are waiting for their stuff also. My wife was at walmart yesterday, walked in with 3 huge bags full of socks that were on sale dirt cheap said she seen them and thought I could resell them... I do do novelty socks now and then but they aren't my ideal product. I looked last night on ebay search for same make and surprisingly I can make a nice profit off what she got... but it's a lot of work listing socks. I also told her I'm taking one bag of them and donating then to goodwill - that my once or twice a year good deed.

I used to live in a drafty old house built in 1885 and there was asbestos...
I much prefer my up to code new property (new as in 1972) where I live now.

Lot those babies up - I buy socks by the lot because here we wear them about 11 months out of the year. If they're athletic socks runners (like myself) also buy in lots. Dress socks are good by the lot, also.
But donating to the GW is good, too.

I have read in the news that some restaurants are selling bulk foods and groceries to make ends meet, and offer pickup or deliver.
Restaurants use different suppliers than the supermarkets.
Maybe try calling some in your town and asking if they are selling any bulk foods and groceries.

No asbestos here. Shouldn't be any asbestos anyway - other than old wrapping on heat ducts. If you are thinking of the plaster and lathe on the walls, that's animal hair mixed in.
And I wouldn't give up my old house for 20 new houses. Ever.
In 1972, you still have some outside air flow unlike houses built from about the late 1990's on. Fresh air is a necessity in houses.

I live on top of a mountain too, so I know what you are saying about wind.
The only time we have problems with our wood stove is when the wind is coming from a certain direction, which isn't often. My pellet stove in the bedroom, though - haven't needed it all year - that too gets affected by wind direction, as it triggers the backdraft sensor.

The fever shows a week before the breathing problems. I don’t think Florida has hit the bad part yet. Spring Breakers are just starting to test positive for the virus.
i was concerned with the infected spring breakers leaving Florida and distributing it nationwide, not necessarily the other way around

actually that's a good idea, wasn't thinking in lots actually. Well, no they are are very thick performance thermal socks, Dickies brand, real nice quality and the price was like $1 a package that normally sell for between $10-$13 retail. But yeah we dropped a bag off at good will just 20 min ago since had to go to fedex and drop package off anyways.

Exactly ... that was one of the reasons for the first 2 weeks of quarantine parameters (varying by state). Have everyone basically stay in their area and see where this thing IS and ISN'T ... I will check news tonight and if they haven't already done so they will extend it 2 more weeks by the weekend (would be my guess) ...
The timing of the economic bill with relation to the next 2 week quarantine period is crucial because if the quarantine is extended but no economic relief is passed the stock market will probably drop again ... if economic relief passes and THEN quarantine is extended it will have less of an effect on the Stock market because people will be getting money while the are off the next 2 weeks.
