I recently shipped an order via USPS priority. I generated the label through eBay, I paid for insurance and signature confirmation, and shipped on time. The item was out for delivery this morning, and then the tracking was updated to Forwarded. Then it was updated to available for pickup at the PO. Then it was indicated as delivered and signed for. However, the individual who signed for the item is only indicated as “D D”, and that’s not the person the order was shipped to.
The buyer isn’t answering any communications.
At this point I’m officially concerned. Any thoughts on what I should do?

Has the buyer contacted you indicating that there was a problem?
If not, why would you be concerned?

The forward message could have just been a miss scan by the carrier. Most likely there was no one home to sign for the package so was then held at the post office & someone came to pick it up. They ask for your id so most likely it was someone authorized to pick it up.

I just had similar happening on an item I bought. It was showing as forwarded to an area close to me. Forwarded was in red, and it said either I did the forwarding or there was a mistake with my address. I went to the USPS site and signed up for email notifications to see what would happen. That did something because I got the item the next day. Never saw that happen before. The label was different like the original was messed up and they had to stick on a new one. The address was correct and I certainly did not forward it to anyone.
So yeah you are not alone in the weirdness. But if your customer isn't saying anything keep all your documentation and stay small and silent. This is all on the USPS.
