Strange Drop Down Box in New Listing Page

Hi all, I am currently listing a 1st time new listing in the Jewelry Category and when filling out the Item Specifics there is a drop down box with the heading "COUNTRY OF ORIGIN". When I clicked on this box a string of or vertical drop down of 20 "US" appeared on the left hand side and directly across from the "US" on opposite right hand side appeared a string of 20 different LOCAL STREET ADDRESSES I use in the CITY I LIVE IN that are saved and used when doing my local Craigslist ads? The 20 different local streets are just different in the sense that some are ALL CAPS and some are caps and under case. But ALL are directly from Craigslist, One actually said "Include Phone Number"? Is this some kind of hack or what. This was in a EBAY listing page DROP DOWN BOX when filling out Item Specifics?

Just a guess -- I would think that those addresses were stored by your browser "autofill forms" function. Perhaps the eBay form uses the same variable name as the Craigslist form, and your browser is helpfully offering suggestions from your past responses.

1st time I ever encountered this and it's a little unsettling to say the least. I have been selling on both sites for over about 7 years and this has never happened before when creating a new listing on ebay.

I would bet dollars to donuts that that's exactly what's happening. eBay has a history of some really sloppy programming, which in this case would include using very generic field names that a browser could confuse with a field of the same name on some completely different site that had been previously visited by the user.

I agree it is unsettling to see your personal info show up in a drop-down.

You can test to see if this info is being stored by eBay or your browser by trying to list an item using another browser entirely, and seeing if that information appears in that drop-down on the form or not.

Depending on your browser, you may be able to delete individual form choices or clear your entire auto-fill form info. To delete an individual auto-fill item that appears in a drop-down, try to use the down arrow to highlight that particular line item and hit delete (or possibly shift-delete). I have used that to clear previous feedback comments that appear when trying to add new comments in Firefox.

I appreciate the help, I will certainly try that if I ever see it again. Hopefully I will not. Thanks
