I signed up for a monthly store subscription, when I tried to cancel, it had been changed to yearly subscription with an early termination fee. Ebay is crooked. They throttle sales to keep a big seller base, but also to protect corner stores. What a farse. I am canceling in a couple of days and will eat the early termination fee, but also I will file a claim with my state attorney general and the FTC. Considering that the Feds are after these big outfits, this could be interesting.

Did you follow the proper procedure to close a store subscription as outlined in this link?? https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/ebay-stores/close-ebay-store?id=4091&st=12&pos=3&query=Close%20an%...
If so, simply call eBay customer service for resolution.
Some how your state attorney general probably won't get to your claims for eons or your claims will find the round file posthaste. They, the AGs, like to deal with solid facts vs conjecture. Some how I believe each eBay policy, procedure, UA, etc are carefully reviewed by eBay's legal team before being implemented. That is the way it was when I was working in my 41+ year career.

Normally I am not negative, but when I get cheated and lied to, things happen. You probably work for ebay anyway. lol

Funny how you end your post with staying away from negative people after your original reply was negative. Can you say hypocrite. Tell me what policy covers them changing my subscription to yearly. If you need a bunch lawyers to cover your policies, something is amiss.

Well Johnj, I took a look at your profile. Over 6900 posts since 2010, that's is well over 2 a day, including weekends. You must think this is facebook or you work for ebay.

I thought all subscriptions were for a year with the only difference being whether you pay month to month or all at one time (yearly) which is cheaper. You can't tell from the sign up what you are signing up for. Is this what happened that the month to month is actual a yearly subscription with the option to pay monthly?

Sorry wrong on both assumptions. BUMMER.
Fact: Retired in '07 from a 41 year career of selling industrial material handling equipment primarily forklift trucks. If you would look real close at when I send the majority of posts are a. real early in the morning say 4 or 5 AM some times sooner., b.) a few around lunch time and c.) some around 7-8 PM ET or EDT.

My advice to you was simple: "If so, simply call eBay customer service for resolution." See my previous post.
Oh I do not associate with people that always look at their shoes laces or toe nails or shoe shine.

Don't listen to shills like johnrj1226... Go for it! I have fought against big banks and town halls in my past... and won!

@busterbgood No, Subscriptions are either Month to Month (and you can cancel, upgrade or downgrade at any time without penalty) OR a yearly Subscription at a reduced rate ... I understand @brucechilds05 's complaint and don't blame them for being irritated about getting put on a yearly subscription when they signed up for the month to month version of a store.
