I have had a store on Ebay for about 5 years now and I can't decide if Promoted Listings is better than Store Wide Sales. Lately, I have been using the Promoted Listing feature and setting the the rate at 10.1% across the board to ensure that my products are at the front of the line. I worry sometimes that I am actually losing money and should be doing the Trending Rates which seem to reside between 3 and 7 percent for most vintage items. Any opinions on which is better? Suggestions?

@how2getstarted Before Promoted Listings (PL) I dabbled with some of the canned Promotions in the store with no success at all ... at the time I believe those relied on Buyers actually getting to your store and then finding or seeing the discounts available. Once PLs came out I elected to try it since eBay was (and still is) offering the $ 30 per quarter PL ad credit. PLs do not rely on Buyers finding the store through one item they find in Search ... items get exposure when like items are Searched for. My approach was pretty simple, run one PL Campaign per quarter, use the $ 30 house money, put every Fixed Priced listing on the Campaign for 30 days (yes, I set an end date) and use one rate for all of them ... happens to be 10% ... this approach always seems to help sales.

Wow. I hadn't thought of it like that. It might be better than store sales
using markdown manager. Thanks for the info MR. Lincoln.
