Standard Envelope shipping is a mess

The ebay standard envelope shipping is a mess and doesn’t cover things that it should. Why does it allow you to choose standard envelope in the shipping options of the category you are using doesn’t allow it? I sell trading card game singles and I list in the Toy section under CCG singles and I chose standard envelope when I posted the item. Low and behold it’s not one of the categories that allows standard envelope so why did it let me choose it when I listed it? Also, I had missed the section where it has to be 3oz or under. I had mine at 4oz, and that’s is too much for standard envelop, yet it allowed me to choose it and list it as such. Everything else in shipping instantly lets you know the shipping service you chose cannot be used for the weight of the item, like trying to use first class for a two lb item and it prevents you from listing it, why isn’t that safeguard in place for this? Just another complaint about this place after being on here for 25 yrs.

This is a serious issue I’ve been having as well. Other sellers don’t seem to have this issue though. I’ve spoke to many people who say they have no issues with eBay standard envelope. 

ebay doesn’t seem to have an answer for it though which is frustrating. I’m wondering now why your question hasn’t been answered by anyone from eBay. Kind of disappointing. 

im also not being allowed to use the generated QR code feature as I don’t have a printer so I need the QR to be able to take to the post office and have them print it. But that doesn’t work either and they have no answer as to why it doesn’t work.
