What’s the deal with zero feedback accounts winning items and not paying? Had one today and then contacted immediately after the auction, I heard back in minutes from the person claiming his account was hacked. Minutes.

And then eBay removed my listing from the site entirely, such that I couldn’t even re-list.

Honestly, what reason does one have to spend one’s energies harming sellers in this way? I hear it has been a growing problem.

My advice, do not attempt to sell anything in auction format on eBay anymore.

Why was your listing removed?

Auctions are a dying part of selling online and on eBay because buyers don't like them.

Some of those "sport bidders" may not have realized they were in an auction particularly since you say they were 0 FB newbies.

When they didn't immediately get billed, they moved on.

The answer is simple.

Don't use auctions.

List at Fixed Price, like most of your listings, and if you like, add Immediate Payment Required.  Those listings will stay up and visible for 30 days or until someone actually pays you.

Not. Even. Close.

There are hundreds of live online auctions every day, on multiple sites. And most of the better ones get prices you will wouldn't believe, not even including a buyers premium of 18-28%.

If anything, online auctions and B&M antique shops/malls are picking up for better quality antiques.

Ebay had that locked up before 2008, then the train drove off of the tracks.

And whatever happened to Sotheby's on here? Or liveauctioneers again? Of course, the way ebay presented those, they were doomed anyway - the ending time of the live auctions were always at least 12 hours PAST the start time, so anyone finding auctions using 'ending soonest' usually never saw them until the lots were sold.
