So I was under the impression that if you promote your listing, either the sponsored listing or the organic listing would show up....well I was looking for price comparisons on some of my items recently and found a couple of my listings that were showing up twice....once for the sponsored listing and once for the organic. What's up with that? Ebay error? I like it showing up more than once.....more chances that someone will look at it! I mean, why am I even promoting the listing if only one shows up anyway? lol Anyone else seeing this?

@mynewfindstore I've been running PL Campaigns about once a quarter, ever since they opened that up to Collectibles categories. In all that time I have never gone to actually search for anything ... I just gauge the results, meaning of sales go up on GTC (or Fixed Priced way back when) then its working.

I set up the PL Campaign for about 30 days and a fixed % for all items and simply put ALL GTC listings on it. I am about a week away from the 4Q PL Campaign coming to an end and sales have been good ... so however they are coming up is working.

What you are paying for is increased visibility that will hopefully result in a sales conversion ... if you get them great, then its working. If you don't then its not working for you in your category but then you don't owe anything either ... Collectible categories are less saturated and I think PLs work fine there. For highly saturated categories like clothing, jewelry, etc. it's more of a price and % of promotion battle with Sellers splitting promoting %s for that extra little edge.

I've always found that to be annoying. In my mind it proves PL is nothing more than a cash grab. That and the fact that unlike other sites the advertising rate is only to get "more exposure" on eBay. Just checked and I have a listing that is double showing if I turn off my adblocker.

My understanding is that for a Best Match search only one listing will display. On all of the other searches, like price + shipping, both the organic and the promoted listing will display.
