Something seems fishy...

I am going to get to the point:

- Someone with 0 score buys Item 1 from my shop.

- Suddenly a completely unrelated user contacts me through an unrelated item telling me that s/he bought Item 1. Saying that s/he’s new on eBay and should send it through another address that s/he provided.

- I say ok. But I’m busy with real life.

- A day later I get a warning from eBay saying do not ship an item cause it hasn’t been authorized. This warning is related to Item 1.

- S/he contacts me again, about tracking info, with an account that has no business whatsoever with me (0 purchases from

me).

- I’m like **bleep**? S/he tells me sorry for the confusion, new to eBay, nobody lives in that address and should send it to the provided address.

- The s/he pulls the GRANDSON story...

Now I know it’s a scam, and my question is: how do I proceed from here?

I want to refund the anount and also block block both usernames related to s/he. How do I do that through the app? If can’t, how do I do that thru the website? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Really sucks my account is swarmed with scams buyers, although eBay system has been great to me.

That's the important part.  Just sit tight until either you hear from eBay again, or the buyer files an "Item not received" claim. Most likely what you'll get is a reversal from eBay.

Go ahead and block both IDs, though it's unlikely that they'd try the same scam on you twice.

One step at a time.

At this point, this doens't mean the orginal buyer is in on the scam.

Generally speaking.

There's a new breed of scammers who watch numerous auctions, and..

right after the auction ends....

they message the seller and Falsely claim that They are the buyer and to send it to a different address.

(yes, they use a variety of excuses why..)

They are trying to get free stuff by getting into normal transactions

and tricking the seller into thinking they're the buyer.

That appeared to be the case in other recent and similar scam attempts but on this one I think it's more likely both users are the same individual (or team), I think this because of the eBay unauthorized notice. it certainly makes things easier if you buy on one bogus id and then divert with another.

Was it the laptop? Buyer#2 is definitely trying to steal your computer. Might want to contact buyer#1 and see what they say, it’s possible they are a legitimate purchaser. Sign into your PayPal account (don’t click any links in emails you receive) and see if the money is actually there. Make sure any communication is through eBay messaging, don’t give out your personal email or phone#. Come back and let us know what happens before you take anymore action.

Since it gave an unauthorized address, you cancel per problem with address.

Never ship to address different from PayPal address.

The original buyer is almost certainly NOT legit. Sometimes eBay will send out an unauthorized transaction notice and then later retract it but with all the other red flags present it ain't going to happen this time.

BOTH users are a fraud!

Yep, after some consideration, and in view of the message from eBay,
Just cancel using problem with buyer’s address and be sure to block both ids. You appear to be a fairly new seller with a high scam magnet item, so unfortunately you have a target on your back. Be cautious and good luck selling!

Don't ship. Mark it shipped and Don't contact ebay, they'll just make a mess out of the whole situation. When an INR is filed. Apologize profusely and refund.
