Someone offered more than the listed price - help

Hi eeryone. I'm selling a dyson hair straightner and have It listed for 455 free shipping. someone just offered 500 for it and said "Hello seller kindly accept my offer so i can proceed with the payment immediately and i will be sending the item to my cousin address in California. i will like to discuss with you better concerning this item. here is my number _______" 

 

is this a scam? any help would be appreciated

It is one of the older scams and since you are a newer seller, it probably won't be the only one you get.   Just remember, there is no reason to have to give out your e-mail or other contact info.  Anytime someone asks for it or wants a gift card included, consider those serious red flags. 

 

There is usually someone around here on the boards to ask if you have questions.

Not saying 'NO' doesn't mean 'YES'.

The foolishness of one's actions or words is determined by the number of witnesses.

Perhaps if Brains were described as an APP, many people would use them more often.

Not saying 'NO' doesn't mean 'YES'.

Perhaps if Brains were described as an APP, many people would use them more often.

The reason for 'discussing it' is to get your e-mail and send you a 'You've got cash' fake PayPal notice saying that you will get the money as soon as you upload tracking proving shipping.
