Some 2 feedback buyer is trying to dispute a purchase

You’ll know before you ship it cause it has their eBay name in the buyer details to.

Ah--- you mean you SELL to low FB buyers, but you refuse to SHIP to them.

You do know that leads to Defects-- which in turn lead to higher fees, restrictions on the number and value of listings, and possibly a closed selling account, then?

Dollars to donuts they're using "problem with address" to cancel.

The buyer's refusal to pick up the item counts as delivery. When you get the item back, you can retain the shipping cost so you won't lose that.

If it is not picked up, it is Undeliverable.

And eBay does not require you to refund a single red penny.

UNDELIVERABLE ITEMS
https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/ebay-money-back-guarantee-policy/ebay-money-back-guarantee-policy...

This is the part I'm referring to

Exclusions and special coverage when the buyer doesn't receive an item

Items collected by a third party on behalf of the buyer--
Not covered

The buyer arranged their own shipping method, such as a courier pickup-
Not covered

The buyer provided an invalid or incorrect address at checkou t--Not covered

And may I just add:   Mwah hah hah hah haa!

You many feel that ethically you do owe him the purchase price, but probably not the fees you paid to eBay and MP, nor of course, your shipping costs.

But be aware that eBay's policy may not cover a chargeback if he thinks of that.

Yeah. So, I know that now every buyer has 100% positive feedback. I miss the days when you could leave a scamming buyer negative feedback. One of the many, many downgrades of the ebay platform for us sellers. What I meant is that without 10 feedback (yes, they will all be "positive") I will not ship. P.S. As far as the "claim" comment, all you have to do is look at my profile to see that it has been active since 2008. I also had one from 2004 to 2008 but I closed it because it was a joint account with my ex wife.... so no, I'm not lying. I have been here for a long, long time 🙂 I'm not a full time seller though. I do this for side money. So I don't know everything about the platform.

If ebay wants to "ding" me and lose a seller. Fine with me. I'll go elsewhere to sell. No biggie. I sell more on Discogs anyway now as I sell rare vinyl LPs mostly and vinyl is scarce especially now. They need me more than I need them. I'll play by my rules, not theirs thx.

As far as retaining the shipping cost. I will have to admit, I was not aware of this as I have never had a buyer pay for an item and refuse to pick it up. This is a first for me. How, exactly does this work? Once the item is returned I get my shipment money back? Do I have to contact UPS? Who refunds it?

Once you get the item back you can take the cost of shipping and your fees off of their refund.  If they open an inr you can win and get the case closed by entering the tracking info to show that the item was available for pick up. Then you can refund the buyer outside of the case.

Very confusing - if it is INR, why would you think the OP could keep something they never received?

So long as you upload tracking into the case you will win anyway.

Did the buyr change their PayPal address / address with eBay as well?  I thought we were always to ship to the address on record for protection.  Was it a freight forwarder?   Are they supposed to sign for an item?  Since the buyer paid shipping, it really seems unfair that under ebay rules you'd have to refund that portion of the transaction.

Asking to understand.  I don't ever anticipate selling anything so valuable that it requires a signature.
