Sold said awaiting payment

Customer bought coat but my ebay said awaiting payment.  After appropriate amount of days of awaiting payment  I canceled and relisted .  Customer said they paid, but my account said awaiting payment.  They

showed it was deducted on their paypal  but it did't show up on my end.  I told them to cancel and to do the

buy it now on the relisted item.  They did, but they also opened up a dispute to be refunded by me and I never

received payment.

Respond to the dispute by stating that your account was not credited, i.e you have not received the payment. Just make sure you indeed have not received it. If ebay shows the 'awaiting payment' status, they will side with you. The important part is to always respond to disputes on time!!!
