Item sold on about it's 20th day, was shipped, delivered and feedback left by buyer. Still shows active with 3 days left. It's the railroad lanterns in the screenshot.
When I click on the item, it is not available for purchase, but it is to watch.
I do have Out of stock option turned on, that's for my seeds. However, if I understand this option correctly, it applies to bulk listings, which this is not. The OOS option has not caused this to happen with any of my other items that sold.
Under the edit menu for this item, I do have an option to end the listing.
The item does not show up when I search for the exact title in active listings, which is a good thing. SO, should I just choose end the listing? Has anyone at ebay ever followed up on what causes this to happen ? I have seen by searching the community that is has happened to those without OOS turned on, so having the option on shouldn't be considered THE reason, especially since it's not a bilk listing.
Any opinions or comments are welcome, unless you're in a cranky mood and can't be nice.

The out of stock option applies to all of your listings @anasazirose. When you enable OOS, you have to manually end any sold listings, or wait 6 mo for them to age off during which time they will count against your monthly listing limits.
Short answer: end the listing manually.

Yes, it has. I can see you have many active OOS listings by viewing your recent sales for example:
2 tiered tray, luke's mug, fox music box, and the list goes on.
Use the OOS filter in seller hub so you can see how many OOS listings you currently have still active. Here's a direct link: https://www.ebay.com/sh/lst/active?action=summary&status=OOS

affirmative with what @wastingtime101 posted......
not exactly sure why in the past your OOS items were being deleted, but it should have nothing to do with the 'bulk' listings

The OOS option applies to all of your fixed price listings, even the single-item ones. The text in the quoted Help page is misleading, to say the least.

Thank you so much for that link and the info. So I see it has happened with other items. I looked at my other sold items, and it isn't happening with all of them, these are no longer showing as active.

So, I'm now wondering why the OOS choice does it with some items, not others. I suppose I'll just turn off the OOS since it doesn't apply to only bulk listings as the help page says it does. You all have been such a help to me. Thank you all so very much!

The most likely answer is that you enabled OOS after you sold those 4 listings in early December.
The second most likely answer is that you manually ended those listings and forgot.
The wording on the OOS page is because eBay recommends the settings for sellers with a lot of multi quantity listings that will experience periods of OOS but will be regularly replenished. It is a way for these sellers to maintain the sales history and not have to use methods like jacking up the price to $10k when they were down to their last one/few to prevent purchases (which is what some sellers were doing).
Unless I'm mistaken, the language on the page was different a few years ago and had more info so the bulk references were less confusing. Either way, it's not uncommon for eBay pages to have confusing and/or misleading wording.

LMBO. Who do you know that knows me? I was pretty sure I had OOS enabled when I listed my pawpaw seeds, not when I listed my ginseng, but who knows anymore? As I go through our things in an attempt to rehome everything before we rehome ourselves, I often ask where an item came from and have to be reminded that "Aunt Judith made that quilt when she was drunk babysitting us". How it ended up in my basement, well no one knows. Lately I've been forgetting that I'm supposed to be selling off our possessions and I bought 4 wool blankets from ebay. Got a great deal, though, and they are new house welcome.

It's good to keep a sense of humor about it. 🙂
Glad we could all help to answer your OOS questions. Good luck with the move.
