Sob stories

If you’re gonna write a sob story about how you can’t afford the widget remember we can see your FB and see that you’ve e been buying extraneous “stuff” over and over for the last month. If you’re asking for a discount forget the poor me story. We can also see your sales. Just a heads up!

That’s all!

I return their story with my own. Stops it real quick. My truth  is worse than theirs.

I say month cause things can change. I don’t look at the older FB. I only even look when I get a poor me story which isn’t very often. Well, poor me! I have health issues and high medical bills.

A poor buyer told me they would pay more but only have $16 in their paypal account, I looked at their feedback  and I think they bought more in a month than I bought in 2 years.

Those with money preying on those needing a sale is nothing new, it's up to the seller to use their noggin and not be too gullible.

That’s exactly what I did but it didn’t stop the messages. I just can’t deal right now I’ve got new serious health issues and I didn’t trust myself to answer again so I’m ignoring the messages. Ugh!

Exactly! I never check a buyers FB profile unless they’re crying poor/sick whatever. When I do I find out they’ve spent a ton of money not on essentials but on garbage they could do without and I find out they’re selling 100s of items a month. Just had to vent. It’s a bad day for me. One of those can’t get out of bed days and I’m not in the mood right now. I’m ignoring the rest of the messages.

Its a less than $10 item with free shipping

Don't you just hate that. I had a lady last year give me the I am on Disability Sob story and SSDI and don't have much money to pay my bills blah blah blah "I love this vintage ice bucket could you sell it for half the price?" checked her feed back and she purchased 50 items that month already including GOLD BULLION! Give me a break, really?

Well, I cried for 7 hours straight, then deposited $1000 in her paypal account.

You’re right. I’m just having a bad day myself where I can’t even get out of bed and I got really frustrated. I mean, I just found out that I would’ve died if I hadn’t finally got a doctor to look into what’s going on with my health. I’m not sending sellers sob stories. I buy what I need and can afford and I dream about the stuff I want & cant afford. 😀

But don't you think that is an invasion of their privacy to research their account?  Don't you think that eBay should make it against their policy to do so?

It's no different than how eBay advises buyers to look at a seller's feedback page.

It is an invasion of privacy that’s why I only look if I get these messages. I’m so against researching buyers, I just don’t do it but a beggar is not a buyer.
