So we can't REALLY block a buyer. Another fake promise from ebay.

I used to be able to block buyers so they would stop emailing me. Did this change recently, and ebay "forgot" to tell us?

We can't leave bad feedback, we can't appeal fraud without getting a defect ourselves, we can't refuse to sell to those with no feedback, and now we can't stop harassment and bullying, yes, bullying, from other members.

I don't appreciate getting 2 emails in the middle of Saturday night from this buyer. She claims a $7 book, free shipping, isn't new. I told her to make a return request. Instead, she keeps emailing me. I won't even read them, and don't plan to. She's on my blocked buyer list, but I'm still getting ringtones from her!! Shut up!!!!

I don't know about the rest of you, but for me, fraud is rampant recently, and I get a complaint from a liar buyer almost every week now.

Adding a user to your BBL will only block messages if they have NOT had a recent transaction with you. Of course you also have to check the box that blocks the messages.

If you have a recent transaction, you can't block mesages from them.

Not sure what you mean? She's on my blocked list. Do you mean there's a box in my messages to check? I don't know if we're allowed to delete them. Truly, I don't want to read anything from these people after I politely answer them. I made $2 from this sale. I hate this whole process.

Oh, and there's another guy I blocked yesterday because of his low bidding, and because he sells what I'm selling. This was on my other account.

This morning I get a snide message from him that You're something else! Etc.
SHUT UP. And I've never sold to him. This is just creepy.

Clearly, have you considered doing something that does not involve dealing with people?

Ebay has made these buyers. They want better than perfect items for pennies, free shipping, same day delivery. If they don't like it they still want to keep it and get all their money back. When the sellers fail to meet these expectations the messages start. Even if you do block them they can always open another account and contact you again. There are still many good buyers out there, sorry you got a couple of the rotten apples.

It's always been that way.

If you've had a transaction or you have responded to a message then yes they can keep contacting you.

Even if they're now on your BBL.

You also have to check a box in your preferences that blocks messages from buyers on your block bidders list. Just putting them on the listing won’t block them if you don’t have that checked.  It won’t block messages from her since she is already a buyer.  Just keep responding return for a refund and nothing else

90 days after the transaction date, they will no longer be able to contact you, if they arre on your block list.  hang in there.

You're getting emails... or ebay messages through their internal inbox system? If eBay, you have to check the little box when you block someone that you also don't want to receive messages from them. I'm not sure why that's an option, duh eBay - who wants to get messaged from someone worthy of being blocked?

If through email - IDK what email provider or platform you're using but you can always send them to Spam Hell and forget about them.... a little like casting them into an oubliette... or just block the emails altogether.

Also, turn that ringer off at night and if you have a day job, maybe during work hours. I have to or we'd never get any sleep and I'd never get any work done between Facebook, Twitter, eBay, email... I'd be 'plugged in' 24/7.

I make sure I include all relevant material in my listings. When I get a message (99.9%0 are dumb stuff from ebay about selling my phone . I wouldn't sell my phone here if the gave me $100,000 for it) but I just quick scan over it, get the jist of it, if its important I answer if not hit the DELETE button

Someone said to me once, you need a cell phone so I can have access to you 24/7.

My response?

Sorry, but you don't need access to me 24/7.

End of story.
