Yes I did look up those Barbies and the usage of the word " inspired" in the title. Quite frankly, I don't understand why anyone would put the word "inspired" as a keyword in that valuable real estate such as a title, nobody is going to key that in looking for this Barbie. It's a Diamond anniversary Barbie doll and the words written by the manufacturer are " inspiring young girls since 1959.

I don't know why the bots picked on you and not the others. Maybe the word " diamond inspired" sounds counterfeit. I would lay low before relisting this and don't breath a word of " inspired" anywhere!

Hi katz, funny you should mention this as I replied to a jewelry post this morning and used that very same word. I suggested that she could title her " jade" bracelet as " Asian inspired".

You find this term frequently in jewelry such as " southwestern inspired" when the item really isn't genuine but looks very simular to the real stone or inlaid work.

What brand was the item inspired by? Some brands are fanatical about the use of their names in eBay listings. Using “inspired by” or in the “style of” can be tricky. I am looking for the policy that discusses this but coming up empty-handed. At one time such usage was outlined in the Help pages.

I don't know the hard & fast rules about when you can but I know a few about when you cannot

For instance if you have a designer bag, that's a counterfeit, you can't say inspired by (insert designer name here) .

If you list a pair of fake Louboutin shoes, you can't list them as Louboutin inspired..

But it would be nice to have some rules/policy on when it is ok to use.

So true, using an actual designer name as" inspired by "would send the bots into 5th gear. Countries, styles and places would all be ok to use.

I adore your ID name, I used that same phrase when putting on hospital gowns on patients " peek a boo ICU!

Barbie 60th Anniversary Diamond-Inspired Collector Doll

If you put this into search, there are at least a dozen up with the exact title.

Mine was taken down (both AA & Caus).

It is a Barbie Doll, it is a Collector series Doll and it is part of the 60th Anniversary Diamond Series

We have sold several of these with no issues.  You will see this worded this way for other Anniversary series Barbies.

I could see if it was not a Barbie Doll, but it is a real Barbie.

What a sweet thank you but I'll have to give the kiddos to my DIL as I retired 5 yrs ago. But I'll just tuck a little piece of your thanks in my pocket for when I get sad.

When you put in the UPC, that is what matches for that doll or the catalog thinks is that doll.

A lot of the Anniversary Barbies use that.

They took down my AA and Caucasian Dolls.  I will just list them on the River - both are New/Sealed, but have shelf-wear on the edges of the boxes due to storage, etc.  Usually, unless *pristine* you just end up with issues on the River, so I try to list here anything that truly needs description past New/Factory Sealed.

Think it was Bot driven or competitor reported?  Frustrating.  I swear we must be on the cusp of a full moon.
