A buyer filed a SNAD return (missing pieces) for an item they claimed to not have received. Tracking shows delivered... over 30 days ago (which is passed my return policy window).
Should I decline the return, or just let it time out?

I don't think that you can sit on it 😞
I believe that you must respond within 3 business days, one way or the other.
Actually I just checked and you're right. The details says I have to take action by 1/3. If I don't take any action and the buyer escalates... what happens? Do I lose?
In truth ... I have no clue 😞 And the "help" pages aren't very helpful on this subject 😞
But ... If I were to channel eBay AI logic ... I would bet that the buyer would win, just because of your non-responsiveness.

Since it’s past the 30 days it shouldnt be closed in the buyers favor...but that depends on how much you trust eBay to follow their policy

IT SOUND LIKE THE BUYER DOSENT KNOW IF HES MISSING PEICES OR THE HOLE DELIVERY ,,, I WOULDNT REFUND . YOU NEED TO FIGUE HOW YOU THINK ABOUT IT . I DID HAVE A CASE WHERE BUYER SAID 30 DAYS LATER THAT THE ITEM WAS BROKEN . YES EBAY REFUNDED THEM THE MONEY ....

DID YOU ASK THE BUYER TO RETURN THE ITEM ,,, IF SO EBAY TEAM MATE EXPLAIN TO ME THE BUYER HAS 5 WORKING TO RETURN THE ITEM AS RECEIVED , 10 DAYS WITH WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS . IF NOT RECEIVED IN A LOTED TIME THE CASE WOULD BE FOUND IN THE SELLERS FAVOR

IIRC from past threads, there would be no refund from the seller because it's past the 30 day MBG period, but the seller would still get a case closed strike because the seller never provided an appropriate response to resolve the request. In this situation the seller is free to accept or decline, but as the message from ebay indicates some action needs to be taken in the three day window.

I’m going based on policy
It says the seller has to be found responsible for it to be a case closed without seller resolution

It used to be if a case was opened after the 30 days a buyer couldn't escalate it.
They are allowed to open it hoping the seller will respond.
Is this still true? I have no idea.
You can always ask Trinton and see.

Sounds like poor business practices and trying to operate within loopholes?
I now understand why you have so many issues.
Good Luck

Proof of delivery is no help in the case of a SNAD. It is only good in the event of INR dispute. I suggest accepting the return and blocking the buyer from making future purchases from you if you feel that they are pulling a fast one on you.
