Should I cancel all my listings??

I got a call on Sunday that my mom had fallen and was being taken to the hospital.  I quick packed all the stuff I had to mail out and tossed them in the car and headed for MN..  I mailed them in Rochester.  My mom just turned 94 on Tuesday and is being taken to the nursing home tomorrow.  I came back to WI. today and my oldest daughter is getting her settled in the nursing home tomorrow.

My little brother is coming up from TX. & will be in Rochester on Sunday so I'm heading back to MN. on Saturday most likely. The rent on my moms apt. is paid through the end of August but my bro & I have to get everything in her apt. cleaned out and sold as she won't be going back home again.

He's heading back to TX. Thursday but I'm going to be back & forth for the next month finishing up getting rid of all of her stuff from living in that apt. for 25 years~~BIG JOB.

I have a 3 day handlng time but I know I can't keep up with that because I'm going to have to be gone for longer periods of time.  I'm thinking I should just cancel all my listings for the time being and start back up in a month when everything is done.  Then I'll just be gone for 2-3 days at the longest every 2 weeks going to visit her.

Is it a smart idea to just cancel all my listings or should I extend my handling time?  I don't want to have a up to 10 day handling time~~that would kill my sales anyway.  I feel like I should just cancel them all and not have to worry about them for the next month.

Should I cancel all my listings??

Unless you absolutely positively need the income from eBay right now, cancel your listings.  Shut eBay down for now.

Taking care of your mom and her apartment are going to be stressful enough, you don't need the added worries of potential eBay defect **bleep** too.

So sorry to hear about your mother. Hopefully she will recover completely.

Sounds like you will have enough and more important things on your plate over the next while.

I would suggest you cancel all your listings to alleviate the stress and not have the risk of having a problem with you account.

Once everything with your mother gets resolved and you are back home, take a few deep breathes and relist it all again.

Life is too short.

I would cancel them and than restart when things calm down a bit.

I tend to make mistakes also when there is too much going on and you really have a lot going on.

You say you can't meet your current handling time.

You say you don't want to extend your handling time.

You have answered your own question - you don't need us.

You're all right~~I'm going to start canceling all of them tomorrow.  I have 1 right now that sold on Sunday after I left so it's going to be a day late in shipping.  I'm sending it priority instead of 1st class but it's still late shipping.  I don't need the stress right now.  The $$ is nice but not worth the stress.

So sorry to hear of the stress you must be under at this time.  I am with everyone else -- just take down your listings until you have more time to dedicate to eBay.  It's not worth ruining your account due to missed shipping deadlines.

Sending positive energies to you, your mom, your brother and all other family members who are coming together and circling the wagons at this time.

My dad is 74 and in perect health at this time, however, I have given thought to when the day comes that he can no longer care for himself.  I figure I will owe him a lot of help at that time for all he has done for me over the years.

Peace.

Happy 2018! May this upcoming year be a prosperous one!

I would cancel the listings, because even if you extend your handling time, many buyers don't read stuff and will ding your stars. Plus I wouldn't trust eBay one bit to remove anything you get hit with, including negs. Plus you never know what might happen while your cleaning out and up the apt. Better to be safe than sorry and have peace of mind.

I'm so sorry about your mom. Mine is 92 but lives with me. I'm glad you decided to end your listings. You really don't need anything else to think about right now.

If you have the time to take and post this very well phrased post...it makes one wonder why you would even bother seeking advice about canceling your listings as a ROCKSTAR poster...

Seriously...

You managed to get off my annihilator list only by virtue of not posting for a while, but this earned you a permanent place on it.

Katt,

I wish the best for your Mom and you.

You made the right decision to shut eBay down for a time while you deal with the immediate issues.

You'll be back soon enough.

Should I cancel all my listings??

I really wish my family was all together on this whole thing.  My sister who lives 2 miles from me won't even take time off work to go see my mom & hasn't even called her at the hospital.  She had the nerve to tell me last night she was going to take Sunday off work and drive to Rochester to take stuff from the apt. that she wants.  I'm afraid I lost it~~~I told her if she couldn't take time off to even go see my mom in the hospital she hadn't better show her face up there to rummage through everything to take what she wants.  It was really a stressful few days getting her set up to get into the nursing home she wanted to go to & I was in no mood last night to deal with her.  My mom told me that any money we get for her furniture, etc. we are suppose to keep & split between us (my brother & I since we're doing all the work).  My sister is actually upset with my mom because she thought my mom was going to give her $1,000.00 for her birthday 2 weeks ago and it didn't happen.   NOW is not the time to be p'd because she didn't get what she expected.  Excuse me for rambling but it really upsets me.

Well, only about 40 more auctions to end this morning and they will all be down.  I feel like a ton has been lifted already with not having to deal with ebay for the next month.
