Should I be concerned when I’m running a spring break sale and no one is buying?

I’m currently running a spring break sale. Have a lot of stuff on sale. I’ve been sorting my inventory and uploaded a lot of listings this month.

but during this sale, I’m not selling anything other than a rare Simpsons DVD. Should I be concerned or is there specific stuff I should work on like with listings or marketing?

Maybe the spring breakers are all at the beach instead of inside shopping.

Have you checked your traffic?  If you're running a sale but no one sees your stuff, you won't make any sales.

If you're on social media, you can post a link to your sale page.  If you're not, you can promote your store via the marketing tools.

A lot of people go on vacation for spring break (not just college students) so this might be another reason for slow sales.

I have my doubts than anyone is going to be drawn in by your sale.

With the exception of certain uncommon DVDs they are sort of a ho-hum item mostly bought by people who cannot or will not stream.

I give my wife a hard time whenever she brings a DVD home from the library, and usually find it available to stream, so I do not have to get up, bend down and place it in my player.

The hundreds of DVDs I own are ignored while I stream items I had never bought,

Many of your DVDs are in lots, and old enough that anyone who would consider them would already own one or more of them. Many people will not buy a lot which includes DVDs they own.

Some are priced to high for the market and pricing at market prices makes them not worth selling.

For items with limited demand, sale pricing is just one of many ways they are devalued, and they need to be further devalued before they sell.

There is a reason I have only a few DVDs listed, and why my DVDs have a sale price most of the time. They are not a reliable source of revenue.

I ran a pretty good sale of 20% off a few weeks ago and did not sell a single thing, but then within a few days I sold a bunch of those items at full price. So, the moral is "Who knows"!!

That does happen, It just depends on who sees it & the time they see it.

DVD sales are hard to get, They have lost considerable value over the years & continue to decline, with the exception of  some limited editions, steelbooks & rare ones, Good Luck to you!

Streaming doesn't make clutter.   Unless it's a really must have DVD (can't think of one right now.), then I'd rather stream NEW movies and series.

My old DVDs and VHS tapes are sitting around collecting dust.  And they do collect dust.   Dusty and they take up space.   And can be heavy.   Almost like boxes of books...I did sell some of them a while back in category lots, like 50 Children's DVDs, but don't think I averaged more than 2-3 dollars each in a large lot.

DVDs had their time, but I now prefer streaming.  Netflix, Disney, Prime Video, Paramount Plus, Free TV, and Hulu with no clutter...I get to see the latest series, or movies I have never seen before.  Plus, new Sci Fiction series like Star trek, Star Wars, all the Disney Classics, etc...

There is so much to stream out there now.  1000s and 1000s of movies, series and special broadcasts I don't understand why more people don't.

I would rarely buy DVDs or VHS tapes now, and yes, I still have several working VHS, DVD and Blue Ray players.  (But last time I used one of them was over a year ago.)

But I'll keep my old vinyl LPs though...😎

Streaming does create a constant monthly fee $$$. I rather have in hand and play a DVD anytime I want.

Everything in our homes, apartments, and so on, collects dust.

This day and age, I wonder if I should invest in a neck / chiropractor service because everyone these days seems to have their heads down on their phones. Kind of sad.
