Shopping cart dumping My items and other problems with Shopping cart, Buyer's perspective.

So this week I put five items in My shopping cart and planned on Paying for them and For some reason, the Sellers would not take eChecks. So I left them in the cart planning on opening My Sellers account and purchasing them there as I have a credit there.

I have been having car problems so I did not get time to transfer the purchases to My Sellers account and this AM I go to My cart and eBay dumped the items.  Stating this I do know that IF it IS sold then I have no problem with that, I know I don't have a hold on the items. I do think that is rude though.

Amazon does not dump My cart EVER! I have accidentally left something in My Cart on Amazon since I have been trying to support eBay and when I have gone to it weeks later,  I am surprised to see that an item is in My cart! LOL. If it is sold then I just get a message that the item is SOLD out and here are some suggestions for something similar. IF the item is still available then I will get a price difference IF that has changed either up or down.

I think this hurts eBay. One time I had about $70. worth of fabric I wanted and that time I had spent many hours picking out the fabric I wanted from eBay. To find the fabric on eBay I had LOOKED on several other sites, found out the name and number of the Fabric and then tried to find it on eBay.  I was waiting for My check (I am on a fixed retirement income) eBay dumped MY cart then. I got so mad I just went to the other sites and bought it!

On top of that Shopping cart problem, the sales that sellers had in their store wouldn't work. (which I had reported months earlier than I have seen them reported on here) The sales were buy 5 get one free. so, I dumped that whole purchase plan also.

Now with the Changes with the IPR and not being able to just buy what I want and have it go through Pay Pal as an instant transfer, that also causes me problems. I know that I can do things like put a check in Pay Pal and have a balance on there for My purchases but I don't feel like I want to do that. I know that I can put money on a debit card and that will work, but that is not always convenient. I have to drive 100 miles round trip to any Walmart, so If I find something I want it is not convenient to drive that far to "buy something I really don't need".  I don't like balances just left all over. I like My money in One place, MY BANK.

I have never Bought anything that the money is not in the Bank. Pay Pal promised me two times that when I sent in MY information that they'd clear My hold and allow instant transfers, and after getting a copy of MY License and A STATEMENT from My Bank and  So once again I have to Call PP and ask what's up.

I am still sore about Pay Pal taking Payments that were already earmarked and pending for other Sellers for the mistake they made on My account that I felt ashamed and embarrassed about. I don't think any Buyer should have to have those feelings for just being a Buyer and paying in a timely manner, doing everything right, and having to be embarrassed about problems that weren't caused by me!

I don't like the frustrations of trying to call both Pay Pal and eBay and just having them go back and forth blaming each other. Nothing getting resolved. I don't like calling and getting foreign CS that can hardly understand what You are talking about. With other sites, I do sometimes get foreign CS but they at least know what they are talking about and resolve the problems with one phone call.

I don't understand what eBay doesn't understand about CONVENIENCE! So many things on here are inconvenient and inconsistent...I don't have that problem with other sites.  Buyers want to Buy stuff, and sometimes like Me, they see something that they like and I buy it "on the fly" not really needing it. All these problems definitely don't allow for that kind of Buyer. I am sorry I do buy like that. I do have money to pay and I a pretty certain that I am among millions that purchase that way!

I can honestly see why Sellers are not making sales. I have a lot of sympathy for the Sellers on here who depend on eBay for things like medicine and even groceries. If My buying experience is this "bad" then what are Buyers who barely understand eBay feeling like about the site?  Just saying...:( pam

I'm both a seller and buyer here on eBay, and I'm sorry for your experience, and I have experienced similar situations, esp with the 'shopping cart' and IPR.  Thank you for continuing to try and support sellers on here, amidst all the issues Smiley Happy

They seem to try hard to make the buyer experience a positive one, but I sometimes feel they are focusing on all the wrong things.  Items should always be left in the cart, and the buying/purchasing experience should be the EASIEST thing for one to do overall.  After all, how hard can it be to simply take money?!

They are always trying to update & upgrade, which obviously leaves the system with a plethora of other issues.  Time to stop updating, fix those simple things that are broken, and just let buyers buy!

Can't help with the cart, as I never use it, but sellers cannot block echecks on Ebay.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

Don't put items in your cart until you are ready to buy them is a good idea. You were ready to buy them with an echeck though. Sellers have to accept an echeck. How did yours tell you they wouldn't? That right there could be a bigger glitch than the shopping cart.
Use your watch list for items you want. When they sell out at least you get that message instead of them simply vanishing from your cart.

I thought that echecks cannot be used if the items are IPR?? Not sure if that also is with the Ebay-induced IPR instead of the one the seller checks off.

@Anonymous  alan@ebay We know that buyers can't use eChecks if the SELLER has selected IPR.  If the item (or Items) have the eBay set IPR on them are they also not allowed to be purchased via eCheck?

This is what happens.

When I go to check out I always pick ONE Seller at a time to pay. So today I bought some pans The payment went through as an instant payment. surprise! $50.00

I had a few bead for jewelry making. I picked out five sets.  total order about $6.00 I went to pay and I got a message Pick another method to pay.  it would NOT accept an eCheck.

go daddy just ran a bill that was $256.00 it went through as an instant check I was shocked. I expected the bill to be under $150.00 it went through as an instant payment.

Auctiva goes through as an instant payment.

I bought a package from a game I pay on Facebook it went through as an instant payment.

I had two orders for about $30.00 from China, those orders went through As eChecks. They were auctions.

I am just adding this information to help with the Mystery...

So apparently it is NOT a Pay pal problem... I am sorry to blame PP.  Smiley Wink pam
