Sold item & is paid for Buyer wants me to wait a month to ship it. Does this do anything to my selling Statis?

There are some factors involved, for instance if you use tracking and your shipping time doesn't allow for the delay you will be penalized. The most likely answer to your question is yes.
To avoid this (when accepting customer request for delay):
1. Make sure you have a clear request from the customer for delayed shipping in the eBay message system (or have them confirm request in eBay message if it came in another form).
2. After you get a negative from eBay contact customer service and reference the message with customer request for delay.
- A little work on your part, but eBay should clear any related negatives in your stats.

It is hit or miss ... lately, I've not seen too many sellers report success with getting eBay to remove the defect.
OP, a late shipment will give you a seller defect, but if you tend to ship within your handling time, then one late shipment will likely not affect you. By the way, the buyer could alternatively contact their local USPS and put a hold on packages until they return from their trip.

Tell your buyer to go to the post office and request a vacation hold. Takes half a minute to fill out and hand back to the clerk, and all their mail will be safely held at the post office. Note that if buyer is out of town already, but in the USA, they can go to ANY post office to fill out the form which will then be sent to their local PO.
