I've mailed almost 6000 items via USPS and except for the occasional delay, have never really had any problems.
In the last 2 months, I've had 2 items lost (I guess, the tracking simply stopped and the items were never received) and multiple items have taken a long time to arrive.
Is this happening to a lot of people? Is it because of Covid?
Is eBay cutting sellers a break on missing committed dates because of this?

Is this happening to a lot of people? Is it because of Covid? Yes. And your statistics are low... they look good.
Is eBay cutting sellers a break on missing committed dates because of this? Yes. Read the current Seller Updates beginning around early March.

I have been told by my local USPS that the shipping times for Michigan and Pennsylvania are much higher. I have had some issues as well. 3 items mailed to Michigan and all of them took much longer than usual for delivery and one of the three is still listed as "In Transit to Next Facility" despite the fact that I mailed it from Northern Indiana on May 8th. So far the buyer has been understanding about the package "In Transit" but I'm guessing that he would want to see it soon or I'll be on the hook for a refund. I feel that if the USPS loses a package than they should reimburse the price even if it went First Class with no insurance.

Forgive me if I am wrong but I think USPS uses passenger flights to mail their packages and maybe with less passenger flights this could lead to delay. Just a guess on my behalf. I personally haven't had anything missing or complaints about things being late but I don't check tracking on my packages so I don't know if they are arriving slower.

Yes, lots of problems with packages going through Michigan.
I saw a posted video about a flood in Midland, MI. I didn't click on it, but it was posted by a major TV station as I recall.

Yes! Shipping to Michigan is frustrating. Ebay has not been helpful. Even though I upload all tracking on time they hit me with defects because of delayed shipping....all in Michigan by the way. To further add insult to injury, I appealed and they removed 1 of 4 (same order). The 3 they didn't remove had a ridiculous explanation of "We cannot remove it in this instance, as it is an indicator of a less than positive buying experience. We understand you may feel that you did everything to take care of your buyer. Please note that this decision is final and cannot be changed or escalated."
Frustrating!

Sorry to hear this has happened to you. Welcome to the Orwellian society where robots dictate your life issues. Or humans who act like they were not programmed correctly, at the start.

I am shipping from Michigan and I have had many delays. The post office is very short on employees because of this virus. I have been a top rated seller for many years and just received a notice that my status was in jeopardy because of late shipping and tracking. I have emailed eBay and so far have just received a pat response. I am still working on it, but I do hope they will take into consideration what is happening. Has anyone else had their status challenged because of this?

I'm so sorry this is happening to you. I, too, am located in Michigan and am having the same problem. I certainly hope this will be reviewed and something will be done about it. I'm in discussion with eBay currently.

I live in Livonia Michigan 20 miles west of Detroit. I shipped a package from Livonia to Detroit and the post office shipped it to a hub west of Chicago and then back to Detroit it took 8 days I could have driven it to the customer in 30 minutes. very frustrating.
