I'll get started by recalling, what I take into consideration before I list an item.
1. Is the item in good condition: nothing missing and/or broken , if yes, does it still have value?
2. How much can I get of it, compare it with other active listings, is the market saturated .
3. What will it cost to ship?
4. Is it better to sale online or locally?

I look for a part number and/or document any pertinent information on a legal pad and go to the PC and decide if it is sellable. I usually like to have 2 to 4 items on the list before I sit down to research.

Everything I sell I bought for that purpose, but one of my main considerations is how easy will it be to pack and ship. I sell a lot of inexpensive items, so I need to be able to pack them up quickly.

It's a no decision for me -- I decide when I purchase it whether it's for inventory or goes into my personal collection.

But keep in mind there are some purchases with a short lifespan.
Children's clothing comes to mind, collectibles that have been upgraded, renovations or redecorations that don't use attractive widgets.

Condition, how fragile, ease and cost of packing and shipping. I tend to sell mostly small, non breakable items. Everything else usually goes for sale locally.

1.) Is it NWT?
2.) What is the current price of the item, is their any kind of discount?
3.) Markup?
4.) Is it luxury/a high scam item?
If the answers are: yes, nobody believes me when I tell friends or family how much I paid, at least 3X, and no? Then I buy.
