It’s been awhile since I sold on EBay, and I was just curious if Ebay notifies the buyer when the item she/he has purchased has shipped. (I know that Etsy does notify the buyer.)

When I buy an item on Ebay, I get notification, once the shipping label is generated

Just wanted to let you know all Sellers are required to enroll in the new Managed Payments (EBAY no longer uses PayPal as their payment processer). 

 You must provide your checking account# and social security# (EBAY reports your sales to the IRS).  NAME on your social security card, checking account and EBAY profile page must be EXACT MATCH (or your application may be denied).

You don't get notified when it "ships".

You get notified when a shipping label is generated.

Hmmmm. I get notified of some sellers by eBay of different responses...they can be different.

Maybe I buy too much...LOL.

"The seller is packing your order"...a today response from eBay.

Not all sellers use tracking...thus there is not 'shipping label' being generated.

It depends on the seller...tracking or no tracking...buy it now or auction and so on.

I ship some out without a shipping label...it just states as shipped without tracking or such.

Welcome back.  Yes Ebay notifies the buyer when they make a purchase and they notify them when you ship the item.

If the item has tracking  you can track the  movement of the  package on your  eBay account in the purchase history link - some items are shipped  with just those USPS forever  stamps no  tracking status available.
