Wondering what to sell and when -- and how best to market the product? One choice is to tie the item to a day in history. An event, a famous person, a nostalgic memory, births, deaths, anniversaries, celebrations.
For example, on this day in history:
July 20, 1969 - Astronaut Neil Armstrong walked on the moon
July 20, 1973 - Martial arts innovator died at age 32
You can look up any day, any year, and find something around which to "sell" your product to a target audience.
August marks the 40th anniversary of Elvis Presley's passing (17th) and the 20th anniversary of Princess Diana's passing (31st). Sad events and celebrities in the news seem to generate the most interest, but there are plenty of historical dates and "national" days to celebrate. Wasn't there a "National Eat a Donut Day" recently?
In late September 1997, I remember doing an antiques and collectibles show at the Tacoma Dome. What was selling like the proverbial hotcakes? Yup. Anything related to Princess Diana, the British royal family in general and really anything marked "made in England." Alas, not my cup of tea . . . but at least the buzz surrounding a nearby booth filled with Princess Diana and other royalty memorabilia spilled over to mine!

Bruce Lee.
His grave in Seattle's Lakeview Cemetery has been a "must visit" destination by the MA faithful and other admirers for decades.

10-31-1959 all hollows eve....
Lee Harvey Oswald walked into the American office in Moscow
He said " I know things about the spy plane"... and he did.
At the same time, on the other side of the world...
A teenage girl gave birth to a boy child.
And the nurse, at the home for wayward girls....
put a sock monkey in my arms...
And the rest is history...

Congratulations on your 20th year at eBay, that in itself is an accomplishment.
And you're still selling!

I don't think it's safe to list it....he might show up at the door.....
Especially if you stumbled upon the lost knife and listed it.
