Yesterday I listed all morning and then by noon the whole New listing page format changed....for the worse. It takes 3 clicks to do what I could do with one click like auction/buy it now, shipping cost, you can't see the picture editing screen, item specifics have no dropdown like before. This is so much more time consuming....why??

Its their new ebay listing form it takes a while to get used to and a lot more clicks. It looks like all sellers will have to use it to so you need to get used to it from here on in. Sell similar on a PC seems fastest but yes changing an unsold auction to BIN is to time consuming.

They did it in the name of creating a 'unified' experience so that the format is consistent with the phone app. The result is a prolonged inefficient PC working experience that is forced on you as there is no way to opt out. Why? I would also love to know this!

Ebay seems to be blissfully unaware that many sellers prefer to use a desktop to list items rather than a phone. A mobile app may be convenient for an occasional seller but not so much for other sellers. Thus we saw the less efficient seller hub update a few years ago and now we are seeing the equally less efficient listing page update, both pages changed to cater to mobile app users at the (time) expense of desktop users. Alas, resistance is futile when dealing with stupidity born of ignorance.

For years I've begrudged Ebay for not enabling video like other sites, in fact it seemed so counterintuitive considering "the online garage sale" is where customers would be MOST aided by being able to kick the tires so to speak. It would be so much more compelling to SHOW that all the functions of an electronic or whatever still work, than to merely say they do, and tons of shoppers don't even read descriptions anyway. Same goes for showing what some vintage toy could do, how some bizarre-looking old tool works, ha I could even picture a video clip of a dress with a fan blowing on it or with the mannequin spinning, to show the fabric's movement.
My current main category is vintage jewelry, and sometimes I get a piece with such dynamic stones that even a dozen still photos don't quite capture what they 'do' while angling around in the light. So when I saw the cheerful announcement at the tops of listing pages saying video was coming soon, I got tunnel vision and ignored the wording about the new listing tool. I ordered a display turntable and video'd a couple of rings, then excitedly went to list them. That's when I realized I would have to convert to this whole other "streamlined experience" if I wanted to include a video. It was the opposite of streamlined as you can see, and I mean just when it functions properly, never mind when it glitches. After lots of time and cursing I got the 2 rings listed, and oh by the way the listings posted immediately but only with the still photos; the videos had to get approval which took hours, but the message said it COULD take longer, like a couple DAYS if I recall. And other than those rings I had things to list that didn't need video, and I just about went into panic mode trying to find the thing to click to switch back to classing listing.
That was a couple weeks ago. The rings haven't sold and aren't even getting many views. So now all I have is a bad taste in my mouth about this whole thing, and dread the day it is forced on me to use for all items.

Is there a way to go back to the original page listing or are we stuck with the new change?

Agree 100%.
Was wonder if you or anyone else can tell me why I have not been forced into this new format yet?
I am a desktop old school seller.
Example for shipping I have 1 shipping rate with no options, USA sales only. Have not had 1 buyer complain ever. I do it because its easy for me. Will I be able to keep that format?
I've read a bit about it but reading and doing are two different things on eBay.
Tks in advance.

I have questions but don't know how to word them so that it doesn't sound like I'm insulting your intelligence or accusing you of lying; hopefully my true concern will become clear by the end.
Okay so I can see you're an experienced seller, but you describe the new listings format as if you haven't heard of it. Have you not had notices at the top of the page each time you started a new listing, indicating that a new listing tool was coming? It's been there with various wording for several weeks. Also have you not been here in the Community and seen postings about it? Finally, are you absolutely certain you couldn't have clicked on something authorizing the switch?
Now for why I'm asking all that. -I've been following discussions about here and (unless I'm remembering wrong), posts/replies dating right up to a couple days ago gave me the sense that ebay was still working out glitches and not forcing anyone to switch yet, only allowing sellers to try and switch back to classic if they want (as indicated in my reply about the video-enabled "perk" I've done my own trial; it basically sucked, and I dread the day I am forced but for now I'm still on classic). I would ask if you would try switching back also, but I can't even remember where I found the prompt, just that it was somewhat cryptic which felt intentional, ha. And for all I know, if you really were "onboarded" without your consent, there probably is no way to switch back at all.

They are enrolling sellers in it now.
When eBay decides its is your turn if you use the listing form for any reason you will find yourself enrolled in it with no warning and no way out. Enjoy what you have wile it last.

The new format was a complete surprise to me. I list new items almost everyday. 99.9% of the time I go with "sell similar" as I can almost copy an existing listing, make a few quick changes, add new pictures and I'm ready to go in a minute or two. There was no "notice" that I saw. I had tried a making a new listing and it put me in an endless loop of ""log-in, verify I am a human, clicking on buses and planes, kick me out again""....until I finally went to see if there was technical issue with Ebay, which there was. I went and mailed packages and came back to the new format.....ugh. I am going to talk to Ebay Customer Service and see if there is a choice. If you look around you can usually find that not all windows are doing the same thing. Just like customer feedback screen, the new format slowed this function down drastically. Change is not always your friend.

The form is dreadful. We will be listing less and less and probably uptick our selling elsewhere instead. Another nail in the casket for sure... The added work necessary with this will cause listings to drop on ebay, and more sellers to leave.

Yup & they generally do the rollout over a period of weeks, sometimes months. So it's normal for some sellers to have no idea & others have been forced into something new for weeks. Typical MO for Ebay, they've been doing it this way for quite a few years now.
ETA: I've only started seeing it 2 days ago. But, I use listing software, so I can ignore it.

I'm so **bleep** about this. I pay good money to use this site, this change is unacceptable. I urge everyone to voice their opinion. On the new listing page top right corner (3 dots) they have a feedback button, every single listing I include a feedback review. Maybe we will be heard if they are bombarded with bad feedback.

I'm at the end of a very long and hard day, so reading your reply I felt I would probably just reply with one word (or demi-word?), but you've already used it.
I'm normally pretty Pollyanna and maybe I am just reeeally tired, but I actually feel close to tears right now. I mean listing was already the absolute effing WORST part of doing this!
