I'm trying to set up a single listing for multiple dvd's I have for sale (over 100). I know there is a way to do it where you have a dropdown box that lists each of the items, and can even select different prices, but I can't figure out how to do it myself.
I've read through the articles about variations and stuff, but I'm having a lot of trouble grasping the concepts since they deal with size, color, etc, and not dvd titles (I have a learning disability). I'm hoping someone can hold my hand and walk me through the exact steps on how to create this specific listing. How to list the titles so they all show in the dropdown box, listing the quantity of each item, and the price of each item. I'm listing this as a "buy it now" sale rather than an auction.
Thanks!

The FVF rate on several Media categories (including books and DVDs) has been 12% since mid-September.

ok, well with that information, why would they discourage people that want to sell those items!
I'm not looking for an answer to that question... just frustrated and befuddled. Does not make any sense to me.
I'm taking my DVDs and going home. 🙂

Apparently eBay expects that a 20% increase in the FVF rate (more than 20%, for store sellers) will offset the loss of sellers and listings. If buyer demand is steady or dropping, eBay doesn't care how many sellers they have in that category, or how many listings there are for any specific item -- the number of sales, and thus their profit from FVFs, will be the same or maybe higher.

ebay picks and chooses how the interpret the word "variation".....they somehow have narrowed it down to basically only COLOR and SIZE and for that reason after 19 yrs and just the last year using this type of listing for my auctions...Ive had it with them.
Its discrimination plain and simple how sellers of trading cards can list and this is just one brand one keyword you pick and one small category...I bet there are over 5 millions ads on here like this if not more. How funny right after they created new store levels....well Im not going from $79.99 a month to $299.99 a month NOT worth it in fact now cause of this I'll be dropping down when these run out this month and I end all the ones they want ended
2019 topps all stars and thne within the ad
#1 bryce hapre
#2 joe shmoe
#3 who cares
and if I list
1996 hot wheels rock and rock series (just an example)
#1 57 chevy bel air
#2 1969 camaro
#3 59 el camino
this is not the exact same thing as a HALF MILLION PLUS LISTINGS on eBay and that's just topps you pick listings
...so if someone gets to list dvd and then a million titles in one ad I'll lose my mind
when my regualr buyers ask me where all my auctions went I'll tell the, SITE "X" which wont be Ebay
This is the ONLY way us sellers can teach them Take business and our customers and money elsewhere cause elsewhere I can accept other forms other than paypal too

Variations are permitted, I have listed successful variation based DVD listings and had one pulled for choice violation. I Listed 161 MMA DVDs UFC, PFC, ect(later relisted with about half the tiles with same foundation). Sold all but 4 over a 6 month span. Later I listed 200+ general DVD titles and had it pulled in hours.
The message I was sent and the CS rep both stated similar groupings, IE sequals, same actors, or items like my MMA listing were permitted. Another possible use is TV/Seasons, or individual season discs, box sets, multi disc sets as variations.
I would suggest if you want to try it, list in very small groups, and make sure to keep titles very similar.
Create new listing, single listing, DVD (category), 6th option on the listing page should be variations.
Add an attribute ie. titles, squeal #.
then add options, this is the individual DVD to be in variations. When you are done update variations you will then be able to add pics and details to individual titles.
It would be great if the listing option was basically usable lol. It is set up for the multi general title listings people now get violated for. It cant be a FVF violation, I was charged a FVFs for every DVD sold. The item is still sold and ebay got there final % of my money. From what the CS rep hinted at it was more a violation for bypassing initial listing fees. Think if everyone stopped listing individual. Getting 250 for the price of 1 is likely a bit damaging to ebay. If some of the big sellers did this style listing they could list 10,000 titles in 40 listings. With that said, it works just fine for shirts and socks, why not media.
I will try using them more in the future but only for very similar titles, or possibly seasons. I will and would suggest you tread lightly. I have heard of suspensions for these violations.
