You can go here and request a limit increase, but having sold only 2 items over a year ago, you may have trouble.
Your excellent buyer feedback doesn't help with selling limits. You need a more current track record of recent sales with good results.

I see you have not had much selling experience. Might be wise to ask questions before jumping in with a $400 item. Just sayin'

You'll be targeted by scammers. Sell lower priced items to remain safe.

Further, if you are allowed to list it and it sells, there will be a Hold on your payment of up to 21 days (less if you are in the USA) against proven delivery and customer satisfaction.
Once the customer's payment has cleared, you can use the Held funds to buy a shipping label, and that also acts as a rough proof that the payment has actually arrived, so you can ship immediately.
It is not clear in the Selling instructions, but your buyer sees his payment as completed immediately, although it actually takes some time to clear the banking system. The longest delays are for payments from a bank account which is a sort of e-check and like a paper check has to clear before you see it.
While with a high value item like your sweater, the best format would be Fixed Price/Immediate Payment Required, you can get around the value restriction on your listings.
It's dangerous and I do NOT recommend it.
But you could, if you were foolish , list the sweater as an Auction at the highest value your restriction will allow. For example, stupidly having an opening bid of a meagre $10.
Sellers who have done this have regretted that they got only one bid, which means the sweater sells for that too low opening price. In addition, auctions are notorious for Unpaid Item deadbeats.
So it's possible.
Just not a good idea.

Warning if you are a new seller and want to blindly list a $400 item without knowing what could happen your going to get scammed. This means you would lose the money and the item if you don't know what you are doing. This is why there are limits. You need to read up on known ebay scams. Be careful, start with cheaper items and build your feedback first.

FWIW, I came here because I have exactly the same issue. I've been on eBay for years - not a big seller, but have sold items previously with no issues. I also have a $10 limit & eBay won't consider an increase, either through the automated request or by contacting customer service. I can understand a limit, but $10 is ridiculously low. No help for you, unfortunately, just letting you know you're not the only one.

tyler@ebay Is there some reason why long time members who are only occasional sellers would have such low limits?
If they are also occasional buyers, I can see that the account might match the profile for abandoned accounts that are hijacked by scammers, but we also hear of hijacked accounts that "sell" dozens of items at high prices before they are shut down.
Can any of your colleagues comment?

Hi @reallynicestamps - there could be a few reasons. I know that if an account is considered dormant from a selling perspective those limits could be reduced.
@fades1964 - you can request higher limits through this page or by contacting customer support for additional help. Thanks!
