Selling limit

In order to increase my selling limit to meet my item value of 1200€ do we really need a good selling performance meaning i would have to sell several low value items (which is too much hassle for me) if you want to sell the item sooner rather than later? It's just not ideal.

Given you have only sold 3 items in the last year...Yes it's very important & you need a good selling performance to show you are a serious & trusted seller.  You are located in Finland, so many of us here won't be able to see what you've sold.  You may be better served by tapping into the eBay.com/de site for better advice, as all different countries have different features and requirements.  This is a US board, so not really sure what the over all prerequisite is for Finland.

The secret to increasing your seller limit is to consistently sell at your current seller limit. Try to be just under your quantity and dollar limit each month. Don't get eBay defects. 

Do that and eBay will most likely raise your limits without you asking.

If eBay sees you are not using your current limits but are asking for an increase in your limits, they are likely to refuse your request.  Reach your current limits without defects and once a month request an increase. When limits are increased, reach those limits before requesting an increase. Repeat.

To most the hassle of selling a few lesser valued items for a higher selling limit is worth it.   You can sell locally if it's not worth the time investment.  EBay will never let a person with little history of successful selling tackle selling a high dollar item.  It's too risky for all involved including yourself.
