It seems strange to you that ebay puts a limit on new sellers? Makes sense to me.
You ARE eligible for an increase. You may not get it but you can ask any time.
My advice to you is work your way up slowly like the rest of us.

Ebay has had these ridiculous seller limits for years now, it never used to be like this. Back in the day you were encouraged to off load your wares. Now they beat you up for trying to do so.

Oh sorry maybe I should have worded it differently. Your reply feels that you are bothered about my question. I find it strange to have a 200 dollar limit that last 3 months seems exaggerated to me. We all have our own opinions 😉… I would have no problem to work my way up LIKE THE REST OF YOU 😂 but have no intention of being a seller just wanted to sell 2 things I don’t use and have to wait 3 months between them. I am NOT eligible for a increase I have asked. Never use to be like this that’s why I thought it was a mistake…

You are quite right, as much as eBay is a great platform for sales, I do not believe it is well suited to the casual/clean out the cupboards seller anymore and definitely not worth it for low value items.

This is a Community Board for US buyers & Sellers - you may have one for the UK we don't know for certain or at least I don't.How many items have you sold since 2011 ?
With that said, based on your FB profile out of the 48 FB you have only one was received from a buyer for an amount of GBP 180 ~237 USDall the rest were from sellers and that on FB from a buyer was in just the past month. So it seems you are a NEW seller. Of course, you may have sold more but only you can answer my question.
Here is what is stated in the US version of seller limit eBay policy. Since you are in the UK your policy may vary - suspect it is similar but IDK for certain. Look it up in the Help and Contact link should be on your Overview page.

easy way to get around that is do an auction with a reserve but other than that you would at the very least have to sell a few items, regardless of price & then you can call and ask for increase which they most likely will give you. The reason they do this is to prevent someone from coming on the platform and scamming people as it would have a lot more in the past. While they say every 3 months, it won't take you that long. After you sell a few items then it should go up on its own but I would call eBay after you do & they will raise it for ya. It's annoying & we all had to start their but it's for good reason & is very easy to get your limits raised.

I once saw a brand new seller come to the boards and cry about being scammed out of a $2000 item. We all wondered how a brand new seller could even sell a $2000 item. He called eBay and pestered them until they increased his limit. Unfortunately he was a brand new seller with a very expensive first item for sale. There was blood in the water for the scammers. The seller didn't understand the system and he lost his item and the money because he refused a return. So, the limit is actually there to protect new sellers from themselves.
