Selling help

I know it’s probably been asked before but are there people who will sell your stuff for a fee. I have just one item that I see someone else has the same thing listed for 100.00. I think mine, the same thing, is in better shape and I’d be willing to sell it for 50.00. Sorry if this is an inappropriate question. Thank you for anything you can tell me.

Time for you to make a listing and sell it yourself.  You need to give eBay your ssn and attach a checking account to eBay to receive payouts.

Oh I'm sure there are folks that still do that but it's such a pain. There was a time you'd see advertising ads and pop up shops for ebay sellers in the field, not so much anymore.

Why don't you list it? Is the item a collectable piece? If so you can always take a picture and submit it on the proper forum and someone can help with the title and description.

Thank you. Yes it’s a collectible. Rare. Not a normal one whatever that means. Lol. I’ll give it a try. I’m a senior but I know there’s people older than me doing it good. Thank you.

Thanks. Yes I have my SSN and a checking account. Same account for 21 years so it should be ok. Like I told the other seller who responded I’m a senior but I can’t use that for an excuse. I know my 70 and 80 year olds would shame me. Lol Thank you again.

Sellers don't want to list items for different people because the Seller will be stuck with your tax liability.  Everything that sells gets recorded under Sellers SS#.

If you are uncertain how to go about selling it yourself (I would consult with a friend...I am sure they can guide you).

All sellers are required to enroll in the new Managed Payments.  You need to provide your checking accounting (routing# only) and SS# (for tax purposes).  Name on your checking account, social security card and your EBAY profile page need to be an EXACT MATCH or your account may be denied.

Good luck to you!

Well, I'm turning 72 on the 1st and I have faith you can do it!  Before they had smart phones they had digital cameras. I had a digital camera for a couple of years before I finally told myself to learn to use it or lose it!!  I had a lot of downsizing I needed to do but I kept putting it off because  I thought it would be too complicated to figure out the camera.  Then it dawned on me I could ask my grandkids if I needed help.  LOL kids nowadays can figure out cameras, phones and computers blindfolded.   And the Answer Center helped me when I needed help.   So we're here to hold your hand!

If you just have one item you may be better off selling it on a local forum. It would save all the trouble of setting up an account and all the banking information simply to sell one item. That is unless you are thinking about selling more in the future. I sell about 40-50% of my merchandise on local forums, through consignment auction houses and other ecommerce platforms with lower fees and less seller risk.

Yes to answer your question.  There are consignment sellers who list other folks’ tchotchkes. It’s perfectly legit, but I have no idea how to find one other than a Google search.
