Selling Restricted

Hello, I’m a new Seller on eBay and I have been listing some high end value prices on luxury goods from my personal private collection. When I hit the 26th Sold item, I received a Selling Restriction MC011 and eBay asked for receipts for the items I listed or sold. I sent them all the required documentation and they said it would take three days to lift the restriction. All my sales are successful, no returns or refunds or any problems whatsoever. I read somewhere that this 26th Sold item is when eBay performs their audit especially for those that sell high value items such as mine. Thank you for anyone who can give an opinion. I still have five sold items that are not yet paid to my account due to the restriction but indeed these items have been successfully tracked, signed and delivered to the respective eBay buyers. I do value my selling privileges on eBay and I hope that my restriction will be lifted soon as I have complied with all their requested documents.

Selling Restricted

As a new seller you were given restrictions on the number and value of the items you offer for sale.

You can ask every 30 days for the restrictions to be dropped but until you've been selling for 90 days and sold 25 items your payments will be held until tracking shows delivered, or in 21 days if there's no tracking.

They can hold the payment for the full 21 days if you're selling in a high risk category.

High risk can mean high value or high fraud.

Check the value/number you were given by eBay.

Often it is as little as 100items/$100 .

Which means you could list 100 items for $1 each or one item for $100.

But not 100 items for $100 each.

Supply the documents as well as you can. On older items, it is to be expected that you don't have receipts, just do your best.

Remember you are dealing with a robot.

If you need help try the eBay employees assigned to the social media accounts. They are better trained and have some authority unlike the phone clerks.

But at this point, nothing unusual is happening.

The US government and eBay are cracking down on possible stolen merchandise online and you just got caught up in the investigations.

It's nothing personal.

I've never heard anything about the 26 items being sold.

A new seller selling a bunch of new, expensive items does raise some red flags.

Have a great day.

Selling Restricted

Thank you for your prompt response. I have a very high selling limit, just shy under 100,000 thousand dollars. All our items are part of our wealthy collection, nothing is stolen merchandise or any of dubious nature. Some of the vintage collective items are inherited from my deceased parents from the 1940s and 1950s. I will follow the guidance given to just let them finish their review before lifting the restriction. Yes I did comply as best as I can by providing receipts or purchase invoices for the high value items where and when they were purchased. It is regrettable that we have to undergo this review process because of the actions of the government.

@metapex ,

Any new seller who has sold over $9,000.00 in a short amount of time raises numerous RED FLAGS! Online market places including eBay, Amazon, Mercari, and etc. are now REQUIRED per a new FEDERAL LAW passed by congress last summer to look out for stolen goods being fenced on their sites. The sites are subject to big fines if they don’t comply. This is no joke.

https://abc7chicago.com/amazon-marketplace-ebay-facebook-inform-consumers-act/13433418/

The online marketplaces are also required to abide by the COOL ACT passed by congress that used to only apply to brick and mortar stores as of last year. Google COOL ACT for more details.

It is regrettable that we have to undergo this due to the actions of counterfeiters. Let's place the blame where it belongs.

I hope this matter is resolved for you soon!

Constantly amazed that new sellers are allowed to have such high selling limits.

When I opened a seventh selling account (the fourth active one)I was only allowed a $100 selling limit.

After 30 days I asked for some room on that and it was moved up to $40K when I showed I had been selling here since 1998.

There must be something I'm missing.

It's nothing you are missing, it is all about what eBay ''would'' be missing - the HIGH fvf's.

Protecting new sellers is hogwash and always has been, I have seen too many HV listings by newbies allowed while other little sellers who are new or casual are restricted.

'Tis a numbers game, nothing  more, nothing less.

When I first started, I had a limit of 5 items and $100 for the first couple months.

Have a great day.

@metapex

Just give them what they're asking for and your account should be re instated.

Sorry for your frustration.
