Hi
I'm selling. Buyer's money is in hold. The package got lost, buyer request a refund. Ebay takes the money out of my account instead of releasing the hold money. Why take it out of my account if the money is in hold? Will I get refunded when money comes out of hold?
Thanks
- Jason

Unless you have the avaliable funds, you have to cover any refunds.
Once the hold is released on the buyers payment, those funds will be sent to your checking account.

Thank you for the quick help. Quick follow-up, When will the hold be released on the buyers payment?
So this is normal, nothing to worry about?

I don't how long it'll take for them to release the hold, but shouldn't be long
Yes it's normal for new sellers.

Ouch that sucks.
Since you are a new seller funds will be on hold up to 30 days. If YOU approved the refund Ebay should have also refunded the Ebay selling fees back to you. You would only loose out the shipping cost and the item since it was lost. Both you and Ebay made no money from the transaction.
If you DID NOT approve the refund since there was no delivery confirmation and Ebay had to step in to resolve the issue THEN Ebay will not refund you your selling fees and issue a strike on your account.
