Selling Fees

Recently, I sold (2) Hot Wheels cars. I couldn't believe what the actual fee was after I deducted the shipping and sales tax, both of which I make nothing on. It was 25%, it was more than I made on the sale of the (2) hot wheels.  I feel like I'm a slave for EBAY.

Selling Fees

eBay charges a final value fee that is a 30 cents plus a percentage of the buyer's total payment including item price, shipping and handling, and sales tax (if any).  So when you divide the fee by just the item price, it can look like a very inflated percentage, especially for lower-priced items and items for which the selling price is close to the item price. In most categories the percentage is 12.9%.

Selling Fees

If the fees for the total sale were calculated at 25% there was an error.

(unless you utilized a 10% or more promotional fee, but that would be separate)
