Came across this listing this morning and cudos ud she did coming up with a way to direct buyers to the description.... it is a shame that we are forced to figure out ways to have people see the description though. Just show the lack of website design that we have been complaining about did years.... wwwwaaayyyyy too much focus on advertising and promoted listings only to hide the most important details of a sellers listing.
This seller is thinking outside the box! eBay needs people like that instead of accountants and advertising sharks lol.
If eBay would bring back focus on the actual items searched for instead of crappy manipulated AI search results..... I know she's would improve as buyers are refreshed at the simple and straight forward design.

Creative, but I don't love it.
eBay should work without workarounds.

I put a note in the condition box to Please See Full Description. eBay sure makes it hard to find.

It's a shame sellers have to do things like that instead of eBay having a clean and clear listing layout.
Putting in rows of ads separating listings title, pictures, and description is just plain crazy, and in the end counter productive.
If it was a top idea, seller and buyer numbers would be rising not falling.

your statement above is spot on. its not even a matter of opinion anymore or something that is unknown or needs testing. Ebay has been in steady decline since they started in with more AI search and got significantly worse with the implementation of promoted listings..... if not showing what people actually search for and plastering the listing pages with promoted listings was working- then the numbers would be going up instead of down. its that simple

I'm considering inserting a tutorial for my video upload slot on how to purchase the non-sponsored listing. Maybe even offering a special discount to buyers that circumvent PLs.

@the-hook-and-the-loop thats an awesome idea although realistically do you have faith that ebay wont charge you the PL fee anyway- there is no transparency with how PL are clicked on or charged. Every time i tried Promoting- i felt like i was scammed or taken advantage of and was tired of the constant wondering if i was ripped off.....not to mention when i would promote- my impressions went up but sales went down! Certainly not the desired effect.
Since i stopped promoting i have peace of mind and one less thing to worry about lol.
I do like how you are thinking though with the video.

I took the easy way out, I just don't describe my listings anymore.

We try to take photos as if people won't read the description, and describe as if people won't see the photos (though we do usually reference the photos in the description, it's just a last note that they should look at them, not in place of any reasonable descriptive terms). I think that's a better approach personally.

s, sellers can use the second picture to direct mobile users to the description in a few ways.
One way is to use the second picture as a teaser image. This could be a close-up of a key feature of the product, or a photo of the product in use. The goal is to pique the user's interest and encourage them to tap on the image to learn more.

In our dreams, sure, in reality no. I can't think of other similar sites that work without workarounds either. It isn't just here on Ebay.

Getting buyers to read descriptions have been a problem since the start of Ebay. It isn't a new problem, but it is made worse by all the promoted listings they have to cross over in order to find the description.
I'm not sure that that pic will work any better than anything else has in the past. But it is clever, I'll give them that.
