I just sold an item for the first time in a few weeks. Fees were 20%. Could this be right?

Fees are not 20% so something isn't incorrect. Go to your seller hub, select payments, each item will be listed individually, look on the right for details, click on view. That will give you a full breakdown of all fees, including %, for that particular item. Best of luck to you....

Here is the eBay selling fee schedule, figure out what you were charged - often the seller think the deduction of the cost of a shipping label is a fee when bought thru eBay - your buyer pays that cost but yes your are charged an eBay Money Processing fee on the total of the item sales price, shipping/handling charge and state sales tax where applicable (not all states have a sales tax)

Selling fees are charged on the entire sale (purchase price + shipping + sales tax). Perhaps that is why you think you were charged 20%.

Fees, depending on whether there was sales tax and where the package shipped, would have been somewhere between $53-$60 for domestic or higher for someone with an international payment method or shipping address. Fees would be higher if you paid an ad fee for promoted listings.
What are you seeing on this page @mwants?

Not a good idea to sell something without knowing what the fees are first.

if its the most recent items it should probably be around 60 bucks .....(promo fees, international, etc...would add a few dollars more)
