I bought something on ebay.
The price was 25 for $20 with free shipping (80 cents each).
I bought 5 boxes or 125 of them.
I listed them individually for $5 each + $4 S&H. They are selling steadily.
The strange part is i got a message from the seller all upset that i am re-selling them.
I'm not even competing with them because they are not selling them as singles, only as boxes of 25.
"I would have never sold them to you if i knew you were going to re-sell them!"
I did not respond to the message. I also noticed they raised their price.
People are strange.

Sorry ..... i meant to list this in "selling" not "shipping".

None of their business what you do with an item. It's yours now.

Seller probably is upset that of not thinking on what you are doing. Not much he can do now, on the contrary, hope he doesn't have more, as he will compete with you.

Why would the seller scold you for selling them individually, rather than just setting up a competing listing? Clearly he could sell them individually for less than you do.
This is one of the reasons why many sellers have a separate ID for buying.
I'm also wondering why somebody would buy one from you for $9 when they could have gotten so many from the other seller for $20.

The OP's buyer only needs one... the OP bought the whole case to resell them.
Frequently I'll buy one at a higher price than multiples because I don't want to have to deal with multiples of something (unless of course I was reselling them).

I would respond with something along the lines of "I contacted your supplier, they are very upset! They said they never would have sold them to you if they knew you were going to resell them."
LOL. I just don't get people. They sold them at a price they were happy with and now are upset because someone else is also making a profit. Oh the travesty!

I made 2 purchases from a seller totaling $57
Many items were multiples. I think it was a case of the seller did not want to be bothered with the 1, 1, 1, 1, 1 after another selling of these items.
Never any flack from the seller. They were items that an individual would not generally need more that a couple of, so the seller knew what was going to happen with them.
I'm still smiling. To date, over $700 in profits, and likely another $500 + to go, and all I have to do is print a label, and pack them up. Fixed price GTC listing with OOS function applied. Listing just takes care of itself other than the occasional quantity adjustment.

That reminds me of the brick and mortar store emptying all those coin albums (of which I received 150 of in good condition) because they didn't want to be bothered photographing and listing them. B&M store doesn't do eBay anymore, not since they had to enroll in MP, but they have a website and from what I've been told considerable work goes into photographing and removing the background to make a nice photo of what you're going to buy without distraction. This is why they were so upset that I was returning the military stuff because I just gave them a ton of work to do.
Anyway I found out that one type of album (of which I have 20 of) does well at auction which means I can list for free. I use templates and add in the item specific info for the album I'm listing. All good. In any hour they'll all be listed.

Ignore and block.
I wouldn't even notice if a buyer re-sold an item they bought from me, and I definitely wouldn't care.
