Seller Notification Going back to Old Email Address

Hi,

I recently changed my email address on eBay and Paypal, both are the same email address.

However I kept getting seller notifications to my old email address. Like when I sold something, the "Sale Confirmed" or "You've got Money" emails all goes back to the old email address.

I called both eBay and PayPal and both claimed that I have the new email address on file.

Any suggestions?

There are 4 email address settings that may need to be checked if you didn't already.

Normally all default to the same, but if you only changed your registration info on the Personal Information page, that change may not have propagated to the other settings, and the old email address may be stuck in one of them.

I'd assume that seller notifications would go to the registration email address, but who knows? (I haven't experimented with different email addresses to see what exactly would go where)

In your Ebay set up, you need to check all your addresses.  There are multiple places where you enter your email address.

Check your Site Preferences again.  Once you are in your site preferences, on the left side of your screen is a list of different things you can do.

The first one is Business Information [if you are a business account], check the info there.

The next option is Addresses, check that one for your registered address and acct info.

The next one is Communication Preferences, do that and show all so you can see where you need to correct your address.

I think  that will cover you on the Ebay site.  There an option in the list for your PP account.  Check that one too.

I hope this helps.

Seller Notification Going back to Old Email Address

I had this happen years ago. Changed back to my old email address after nearly a year.  I discovered it when a payment had a problem. Went to my old email address. I forget what I had to do to fix that payment. I do remember going through all my listings and found they all had my old address. All my setting's were correct. I had to watch every listing I made for six months changing the email address in each listing until the algorithms finally excepted the new address.

I have avoid changing my email address ever since.

Very frustrating, I'm sure.  Yes, there are multiple places to change.
