Part of today's seller news update for April 2025.
Shipping to Mexico (direct, not through eBay International Shipping) requires a lot of detailed buyer info including:
Hi kyle@ebay devon@ebay elizabeth@ebay . How are sellers supposed to comply with that policy when eBay masks buyer email addresses with a members.ebay.com email? Do they have to contact every buyer having their package shipped to Mexico post-sale, then cancel if the buyer does not respond? Will the masked members.ebay email be accepted?

The Facebook Marketplace integration: If I make a sale though Facebook Marketplace Integration, will ebay provide that information to me?
And how will FBMPI work with General Ads? For example, my buyer clicks on my promoted item on ebay, doesn't buy it, but within 30 days buys my item when he sees it on FBMP as part of FBMPI. Will I be charged the ad fee?

Great question, I don't think it should work that way, but hopefully someone will get you a definite answer for that!

When are the facebook market place feeds rolling out? I searched it pretty good and do not see any ebay listings anywhere. thanks

@coins_artifacts Supposedly it is rolling out now. This link includes info on how to identify an ebay FBMPI listing.:

With no facts to back it up I would say that there is a 99.9% chance that you would pay a PL fee. As reported on some of these Halo effect situations the PL fee might be delayed.
If on the other hand the FBMP buyer does not have an eBay account then there should not be a PL fee even if they had browsed eBay without opening an account prior to finding and buying on FBMP.

The original email address is encrypted by Ebay but it can still be used to send a message from the outside world if I remember right. This was asked way back when Ebay started encrypting the email addresses. I would guess that when you print your shipping label to Mexico then the buyer email address will get picked up for printing on the label (or customs form or whatever) along with the other details.

Yeah I remember that @itsjustasprain , but I also remember that they will strip out content (especially from carriers) so I am not confident the members.ebay email will be sufficient to comply with these regulations?
Edit: I also have a foggy memory that there were other limits, like the members.ebay email could not be used to send a PayPal invoice to buyer (for repayment of refunded INRs, re-shipping if package was returned, etc)

Hey @wastingtime101! We are checking with the Shipping team and we will get back with you once we know more.

devon@ebay I'll repeat my questions about the Facebook Marketplace Integration , as I've seen these same questions being asked on a number of ebay Facebook groups....so I know I'm not the only one wondering about them:

One other point about the encrypted eBay version of the buyer's email address that I have not seen mentioned yet in this thread: it disappears from the buyer's Order Details page after two weeks. (The phone number stays visible.) Not sure how much difficulty that could add, since of course you would be shipping within two weeks after payment, but later followup might get a little tricky.
I know eBay has said in the past that the buyer's encrypted address will remain working for at least one year after its last use, but as it would not be visible to the seller on-line after two weeks, you would need to store it separately yourself.

What "later follow-up" might a seller need to do that he could not do through eBay messages?

I wasn't thinking of the eBay seller in this situation, but whether Mexican customs would be able to contact the buyer for whatever reason, as the buyer's email address seems to be one of the required items for shipping there.

Hey @my-cottage-books-and-antiques! I will see if the Product team can share more insight on the Facebook Marketplace Integration and if so I will be sure to let yourself and others know.
